My grandmother stayed at Sunrise back in 2002 and had a good experience. This was a big reason why we decided to take my mother there recently. My mother told me on several occasions that she genuinely enjoyed being at Sunrise, which was not something I expected her to say. It made me feel so much better about sending her there. No facility is perfect. There are so many challenges that caretaker’s face trying to make everyone feel comfortable especially when many of them are very sick. The staff worked like a team and seemed to get along well with each other and pitched in to help each other. That was another thing that impressed me.

Response from the owner

Once the sales team lures you in with their promises of strict attention to hygiene and personal care unique to your loved one’s needs, their promises fall flat. Numerous residents died in the month of January 2025, including our beloved aunt. We asked the individuals in charge to give her a second chest X-ray because we felt she was much sicker than we were led to believe. It never took place. Shortly thereafter, she died from acute hypoxic respiratory failure, influenza, severe sepsis, streptococcus bacteremia and atrial fibrillation. Pricing is convoluted and raised at their whim with no improvement of care for the resident for the upgraded charges. A word to the wise…Look carefully at your billing if you are already involved with this facility. If not, avoid Sunrise at Granite Run at all costs. It was a very frustrating and sad experience for myself and my family. My aunt was only there for 5 months.
