Thank you Heather Glen Senior Living! update 10/29/2024. It’s been almost 2 years since my original post and our moving Dad to Heather Glen, more than ever I feel we made the right decision ❣️. The staff are amazing, my Dad is happy and WELL supported, respected and taken care of, they provide help not just for my father but support the family. Heather Glen gives peace of mind. They are the total package. (They even have Fox Rehabilitation therapy right in the facility and the therapist are caring, professional and just amazing!) Every department works together, and they become an extended family. There is nothing better than piece of mind knowing my Dad is well cared for. I would give a million stars! I thank God every day that we made the move to Heather Glen. We moved my Dad from another facility, Dad says it’s like living at the Plaza Hotel! He now gets delicious HOT food, he ACTUALLY Gets nursing care and the security of someone at the desk at all times. All of the staff have been kind and compassionate. Well run programing, and a BEAUTIFUL facility that feels homey. Can’t thank you enough ❣️

My Dad was a resident at Heather Glen for the past 3 years. From the beginning we trusted the Heather Glen team with his care physically and emotionally. I need to acknowledge Kim Garrison who was there on day one welcoming Dad and she was there and offered loving support when he passed. The HG team gave him the ability to experience an excellent quality of life filled with many friends, fun activities both in & outside of Heather Glen. He enjoyed crafting, Wii bowling, holiday events and so much more. You could hear my Dads voice when we walked down the hall, he loved to talk. You could hear the laughter and see him and his friends playing pinochle in the activity room. My Dad was known as “The Mayor of Heather Glenn” which made him smile. He also was happy to supply candy to all. My husband and I looked at many personal care facilities in and outside of the Lehigh Valley area. Heather Glen’s caring team of individuals were family. We felt fortunate and blessed that my Dad was a part of this community. We are forever grateful ❤️

Grace, thank you for your kind words! We have so many fun memories with him…he is missed by everyone. The staff and residents still love chatting and sharing their favorite stories of the “Mayor of Heather Glen”. Thank you for allowing us to be part of that!

We chose HG over other facilities due to the kindness of the staff and beautiful facility. My mother was well taken care of for most of her time at HG. While she was independent and had easily managed medical issues, she thrived. We were very pleased. When her physical condition declined, she was unable to return and we had to find a new facility for her. They sold HG as a facility where she could live until the end. They have no skilled care, which we sort of knew, but were assured over and over that as long as she could assist in her own transfers and didn't require a Hoyer lift, she could return. I was told that if she needed help overnight, it may take an hour to get to her. I was also told that she is so young (she's 79) and feisty and hard to control. The medical management of our mother was reactive vs proactive. While this is not all on HG, as we could've have asked more questions, we expected more guidance and help with next steps and different options. It took multiple unwitnessed falls, fractures and hospitalizations to get new treatments for her. Communication got progressively less consistent with promises to call or text, but we never got them. Multiple visits to evaluate my mom for return went unkept. We eventually made the decision to remove her because HG made it perfectly clear that she wasn't welcome back. She is in a different facility that will have all levels of care to take her from relative independence to her passing. It was a sad parting from a place where we had trusted relationships. Sales team...please be very clear about the levels of care that can and cannot be provided at your facility.

Response from the owner

Hi Joanna, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Unfortunately, there can be several needs someone may develop over time that we are unable to support as a Personal Care community. At times, this may include safety awareness concerns. Our goal is to care for our residents until they pass but we are unable to guarantee that. We realize making a move can place emotional stress onto a resident and their family, so we provide support as welcomed.
