My father was a resident at St Jude and our family could not have dreamed of a better place for him to spend his final months. The staff took the upmost care of my father, he needed assistance eating which the helped him with daily, he was regularly repositioned to avoid bedsores, was always clean and we could tell how happy he was with the service as he would always smile when his favorite staff members walked into his room. During my visits I had the opportunity to see how the staff was with the other residents. One day I walked in and they were having a bingo game, they had a 4th of July celebration and watched fireworks from the patio. All the other residences appeared happy there. The owner RJ said he had recently taken over St Jude so please take that into consideration reading the older reviews. St Jude surpassed our expectations

Based on my experiences visiting this place, there were a few things worth mentioning. 1)Patients are rarely taken out of bed, even one patient having gotten a bed sore in the last month. 2)The only nurse that is there full time cannot lift these patients on her own, which means heavier patients will be bed bound for an extensive amount of time. 3) Someone else mentioned the difficulty of said owner, which is true in my interactions with them. He shows himself to be completely belligerent when asked difficult questions about the care and treatment they offer in their facility. I have caught him screaming at the patients while I was on the phone with one of the elderly in the home. 4) He mentioned to me that "if they treat me bad, i treat them bad" which really caught me off guard and had me taken aback. What kind of home care facility abides by this kind of standard? In all my years of working in Home Healthcare, this was the most gut-wrenching thing to process. I would be devastated seeing my own grandmother, or even mother, at this facility. Thankfully, I was able to record him screaming about this before he went on a ballistic rampage and became ignorant with me when I asked him to feed the patients more than a can of beans and rice. He said how asking for anything more than canned foods (which has extremely high levels of Sodium) is considered "gourmet food" and that is apparently too asking of them. He and his staff have made inappropriate, unprofessional digs at clients when they are inquiring about services that they are receiving. Some not receiving the full extent of their required medical care. All in all, would not recommend, 3.0/10.0 because at least they have a roof over their head.
