We had my FIL here for rehab after a terrible fall. We were treated so gracious when we first walked in the door and his treatment was so wonderful during his whole recovery stay. Quaker Heights is updated and not old and gross like some I have been to and he always had plenty of options of food to choose from. We popped in and out and he was always being well taken care of. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a place to stay or a place for rehab. The nurses, the aides, and the the management have this place running in tip top shape.

I will start by saying there are some aids we adore and treat my aunt with Down syndrome really well- like a human. Most of the Agency staffing is an issue, they are rude, uncaring, lazy, unprofessional and lack in caring about dignity for the residents. A lot of what we’ve noticed is on camera and they know they are on camera. The DON is never apologetic, doesn’t acknowledge wrong doings, brushes off the family and comes across as rude and lacking in compassion. While we may bring up issues, we will also be the first to praise simple acts of human-like kindness and care. The facility is nice and updated, but people need training on compassion, especially for those unable to express themselves or even care for themselves. Ask yourselves, if this were me or my beloved family member how would I expect the care to be. Our advice is for every family to have a camera in your loved ones room, you have the right to do that.

When my daughter Vera was the victim of a tragic hit-and-run accident that caused a traumatic brain injury with long-term complications, our family was faced with the overwhelming challenge of finding the right place for her rehabilitation. From the very first conversation with Stephanie Cotrell, I felt a sense of reassurance and hope. She was compassionate, knowledgeable, and patient in guiding us through every step as we worked to bring Vera closer to home here in Waynesville. Since Vera’s admission several months ago, we have experienced nothing but exceptional care from the entire staff and rehabilitation team at Ohio Living Quaker Heights. Vera’s case is unique and complex and different than what is typically seen, yet the staff immediately stepped in with dedication and creativity to help us navigate what would be best for her. From the office staff to the nurses and aides, the ongoing support has far exceeded our expectations, especially as this has all been a new experience for our family. We have also been deeply impressed with the thoughtful activities and programs offered to residents. The attention given to ensuring not just medical care, but also a meaningful quality of life, reflects the heart of this community and brings comfort to our family. We still have a long journey ahead, but we celebrate every bit of progress Vera has made, and a big thanks goes to the tireless work and care she receives here. Words cannot express our gratitude for the way this facility has cared not only for Vera, but for our entire family through such a difficult season. We truly believe God answered our prayers by opening the doors for Vera to come to Ohio Living Quaker Heights, and we are deeply thankful. — A grateful Waynesville family
