Millersburg Danbury is a nice facility. However, be warned, you will be promised things prior to moving in that will not be fulfilled. They are constantly short staffed so your loved one may wait a long time to get help after pressing their call button. My mom often requires a double assist to transfer, and that’s one “excuse” for her needing to wait. Recently my mom has only gotten one shower in a week. The aides are constantly changing. It seems the good aides all quit. It needs to start at the top. The aides are overworked and under paid. They have very strenuous jobs and deserve to be taken care of -so they can in turn offer their best to the patients. We have experienced lack of integrity from management at this facility, and that is a problem.

Moved mom in today. As such, we have limited exposure to everything. First impressions; Nice newer building, outside is clean and well maintained, looks inviting, very close to home and is on the edge of town. If you are anywhere in Millersburg, it is close by. Stopped in yesterday for a tour and paperwork. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Was told there were only two rooms available at the time. A full facility told me something. Walking in the front door it was clean, it did NOT SMELL BAD, it was quiet, had a peacefully feeling. I was at a couple other facilities before and felt a sense of dread just by walking in the door due to the atmosphere. Had a nice tour, person at the front desk was friendly, was shown the activity rooms, dining area, told of the daily food specials and everyday food options. Was given a monthly activity schedule. Had lunch with mom, good food, fast friendly service. Had my meal comped as mom just moved in today. Meal rates for guest were very reasonable. Will join mom for more meals in the future. Her room is very nice, looked like new paint. Has a fridge, free cable, wifi, phone hook up, nice size bathroom and a lot of storage space. Her laundry will be done separately, not mixed all together with everyone elses. We were able to move in her furniture yesterday and have it ready when she first walked in. She liked what she saw so far, will take a while for her to get used to her new surroundings. Met a nurse first thing to get her checked out. Has two call buttons and a necklace with a third GPS call button. A lot of activities available, she got a welcome basket and was made to feel at home. She met someone when she was walking in the first time that she already knew. Cost. Nothing is free, especially good service and professional care. I never really checked into prices before but was actually somewhat surprised by the monthly rate. I thought it was going to be a lot more. Again, first impressions only. I expect I saw a true picture of the place and if an issue would arise, it will be taken care of. I trust they will give mom good professional care and it was the right choice for her.

After my ALS diagnosis I decided it would be a good idea to choose an assisted living facility. Danbury in Millersburg has been a very positive experience. The nursing and office staff have been excellent. Highly recommended.
