Callahan Village Assisted Living

First off the staff is top notch! Kind and quick to respond to my father’s needs! From the administrative staff to Ruben serving my dad and I our morning coffee. Callahan Village was a great experience for dad and his family. The food is great and served just the way you ask it to be. They go the extra mile in caring for everyone there. All holidays are celebrated in style with the whole staff participating. Families are encouraged to show up to every event! The staff even had Graffiti cars show up in the parking lot. My father was forced to leave because of his health. He had to recover in another facility. He missed his friends and the great people working there. He wanted very much to get back to what he called his home. He told me he was working on getting back there. He worked very hard on getting healthy so he could return to his home. He got well and became very excited about the possibility of going back. I made one phone call to Callahan Village and they made it happen right away (I was caught off guard to their quick response) it was under a week and he was living back there! My dad loved all the puzzles and activities he could do there. He really enjoyed the cooking class and the happy hour events ! He loved getting on the bus for the adventures the staff scheduled. I’m sure I’m missing lots of other things! But in closing. My father was going to pass away and didn’t want to have to leave his home. Callahan village made sure he was taken care of the rest of his life there! He asked for a few things and the staff went far and above what he wanted. I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone there. My mother moved into her lovely apartment at Callahan Village a year ago when she found the upkeep of her own home more than she wanted to handle. She has found her apartment is set up to be safe for someone her age and has gotten quick assistance with a couple of things that needed to be repaired. The housekeeping staff cleans the apartment every week and takes trash out daily. She gets wholesome meals without needing to cook or do dishes. Mom has enjoyed making friends and going to an exercise class. She also participates in a hymn sing each Saturday and a Bible class on Sunday mornings. She enjoyed a bus ride to a favorite park not long ago. I appreciate the friendly, helpful staff and knowing that my mom can quickly summon someone if she has an urgent need. My husband and I can go out of town knowing she is in a safe and comfortable place. Her family and friends are encouraged to come spend time with her at Callahan or take her for an outing any time. Everyone who has visited has commented on what a beautiful place Callahan is.

Our experience with Callahan Village was excellent. My mom lived the last year of her life there and the staff truly became her friends. The care was exceptional - because it was both professional and heartfelt. The atmosphere at CV is so homey that I will actually miss my visits now that Mom is gone. I can’t recommend Callahan Village highly enough.
