Diversicare of Bradford Place

My grandmother is a patient at Bradford Place after being in the hospital. The nurses and staff are very kind and helpful. They answer our questions and are working hard to help my grandmother get back home 😊

I’ve lived here at Bradford Place for 13 years. My apartment is wonderful! The people who take care of me are kind and I have lots of friends here!

I love visiting the facility! The residents are so happy and have a wonderful place to live! Thank you to all the staff for all you do!

My mother was transferred to Bradford Place after having back surgery. She arrived on a Friday after "bank hours" and was not seen by a doctor or therapist for 3 days. Because they did not have a doctor on the weekends she was forced to remain bedridden until a doctor was in. During her stay the daytime staff seemed competent, but the overnight staff was nothing short of a nightmare. The first night she had to scream to get anyone's attention. On another night the overnight staff berated her for how often she had to use the bathroom - ever yelling at her when she made a mess because she couldn't get any help in time. If you have someone that you truly care about getting top quality care, avoid this place!!!!!

I do not recommend this nursing home to anyone considering care for their loved one. Our family’s experience with my grandmother’s care at this facility was deeply concerning and unacceptable. Her personal belongings, including clothing, were frequently missing. Call lights were consistently ignored; on one occasion, I visited and found her with dried vomit on her clothing. She stated she had been waiting for assistance for over an hour. During another visit, she requested help transferring to her wheelchair. Staff informed us directly that no one would be assisted out of bed that day due to short staffing. On a separate occasion, after she called for help getting into bed around 8 p.m., she was told she would be put to bed when staff “felt ready.” My brother ultimately assisted her himself. The nurse refused to help, claiming she was passing medications and could not provide any other assistance, while the aides were later found smoking in a stairwell. The facility itself was consistently unclean, with hallways that smelled strongly of urine. It was evident that the facility was severely understaffed and poorly managed. Communication was nearly impossible, both after hours and even during standard business hours. My grandmother also reported not receiving meals at times due to “insufficient food.” She developed multiple wounds, and a surgical incision she had upon arrival became severely infected because treatments were rarely, if ever, properly administered. No family should have to witness their loved one endure such neglect and lack of compassion. I strongly advise against placing anyone you care about in this facility.
