Update: they delete reviews on yelp as I have seen a couple disappear over the last week. I went to comment on one and the review was gone. When I liked it, they stated the company has been deleting reviews. Make it well known that they do not want to know how awful this place is. It’s a real shame that they’re not willing to change. The current management is running this place to the ground. A little over a year ago, I toured this facility while beginning the difficult journey of finding memory care for my family member. During that visit, I sat down with the young lady who was running the memory care unit. She was incredibly warm, deeply knowledgeable, and exceptionally compassionate. The insights she shared gave me the clarity and confidence I so desperately needed. Even if we didn’t choose this facility, I left feeling profoundly grateful for her guidance. It felt like a well-oiled machine driven by genuine heart. Unfortunately, we have now reached the point where we must make a final decision, and I recently returned to the facility. I was heartbroken to learn that this dedicated individual has left the organization. The change in environment is both palpable and deeply concerning. The warm, structured energy we initially experienced has been replaced by an atmosphere that feels chaotic, unsettled, and spread far too thin. Without the steady, caring leadership that once defined this unit, the high standard of care seems to have crumbled. It brings me great sadness to write this, but I no longer feel the sense of safety and security that is absolutely vital for our vulnerable loved ones. For families walking this incredibly difficult path, I would urge you to look elsewhere. We all want peace of mind, and tragically, I no longer believe this facility can provide

Response from the owner

Marcus, thank you for sharing your experience. We know choosing a memory care community for a loved one is never easy, and we’re honored that our team provided guidance and support when you first visited. We’re sorry your recent visit made you feel differently. We value your feedback and welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your concerns. We would also like to note that it is impossible to remove reviews from all well-known sites such as Google and, yes, even Yelp!. Reviews are removed when they violate Terms of Service; Bonaventure Senior Living has no control over whether a review is removed or not.

I am a pianist and sometimes perform there. (I don’t live there.). Facility seems to be well run and all kinds of entertainment is scheduled. Residents seem to enjoy life there.

Response from the owner

Thank you, Mary Anne! We're so happy to hear you enjoy performing in our community. We appreciate what you do for our residents.

I wish I could give them less than a one star. Bonaventure review I would urge you to look elsewhere when looking for placement. This place has management that does not care. They care about profits over people, you are just a walking dollar sign to them. Anyway they can gauge you and move the price up they will. Not only do they not care about your family member, they allow employees to drink on the job, smoke marijuana, and who knows what else. I was looking here due to a family friend having their parents here, but after hearing them finding numerous alcohol containers, scattered around the building, on more than one occasion. I have decided to look elsewhere. It seems that the management that cared and had this place walked away (no surprise). Despite the remodel, the inside does not match. It messy, ugly and lacks the heart and soul of a caregiver or long-term care team. Staffer is nowhere to be seen in this building at anytime- If you care about your family member, want them to be safe and not abused or neglected I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Anywhere but here.

Response from the owner

Jill, we're sorry to see you left us a one-star review. The environment you're describing is frankly, not true. If our community ran the way you describe, such as letting the staff drink alcohol and smoke marijuana while on shift, then we would be shut down by the state of Oregon. Additionally, we have a very strict Drug Free Workplace policy and are proud of the safe and caring environment that we provide our residents, and we encourage anyone to stop in any time and see for yourself! It sounds like we're not a good fit at this time for your loved one, and we hope your search for a community goes well!
