Every time I have visited Bluebird everyone is quite pleasent and the residents are having a good time! The 1950's Malt Shop is a very cool touch and move theatre too.

My mother’s experience at Bluebird Retirement Community was deeply concerning and, frankly, traumatic for our family. She was admitted to their memory care unit, where she was routinely given Ativan—reportedly to “keep her safe.” Within just 10 days, she was hospitalized due to extreme lethargy and labored breathing. She slept for three days straight, and when she finally woke, she could no longer sit up on the edge of the bed, chew food, or walk. She had to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility for intensive rehabilitation. When I raised concerns, the Director of Nursing claimed that it was common practice in Ohio to give Ativan to dementia patients. That is simply not true, and it was not the practice at her previous or current care communities. Choosing Bluebird was a mistake. Not only was my mother’s health compromised, but the cost was exorbitant. Families are required to pay a non-refundable $3,600 entry fee, which makes this experience feel even more like a betrayal. Please think carefully before trusting this facility with your loved one’s care.
