First of all, assisted living and senior care of any kind is taxing and God's work. The staff at the Arbor are wonderful overall when it comes to the most important thing, which is my sister's care. My missing star is the result of laundry being put wherever they want and not in the labeled drawers so it is often hard to find stuff my sister needs, missing items that we know we've brought but we're told we need to buy for her (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lip salve, diaper rash goop, toothpaste, etc so we now mark the calendar when we bring in new stuff which has curbed the pilfering) or just plain missing, like towels, caster cups, and reading glasses. Also, housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. Sure, the minimum is done, but more than once I have had to mop her floor or sweep stuff from under her bed, or ask them to reload the automated paper towel dispenser, so now I make it part of my routine to do housekeeping whenever I visit her. Maybe I'm just too much of a neat freak, but I know how my sister likes things so I try to keep her room tidy. But again, the important thing is care--and those caregivers are awesome the way they tolerate my sister's endless demands and insults. Special thanks to Deb, Savien, Tina and Trey. Kudos!

I was visiting my grandma last week and the staff are completely unprofessional. One of them some girl, I found out is named Maddie/Maddy was the worst. They were walking patients to the dining room and she sat one down. I didn't hear what her coworker said to her, but her response was, "Whatever she's not going to know." She then was dragging another patient by his walker to sit down and I mean DRAGGING. She was snickering and laughing and it looked like she was doing it towards the patients. This girl doesn't belong in this field. I had to try every hard to get the director's email from the chick with the annoying Minnie Mouse voice. I am not done with this place yet.
