We moved my 96-year-old mother-in-law to Wood Glen from a larger assisted living facility in Ventura a little over a year ago and we are very happy we did. The administrative and nursing staff are wonderful, the food is good, the grounds are beautiful, there are many activities and performances for the residents. Families are welcome to attend activities as well as meals. We just returned from a special lunch celebrating residents who were born in February compete with champagne, music, presents, cake and ice cream. We are on a first name basis with many of the staff and receive excellent communication and feedback regarding her wellbeing.

My active 89 yo mother in law has lived at Wood Glenn Hall the last year. Friendship, caring staff, activities that enhance mind, heart, spirit… Beautiful grounds; clean environment. It is definitely a “no regrets” choice for independent living. From picnics at Cachuma; group meal at Dutch Garden; on campus live music— life is good at Wood Glenn Hall.

We moved my mom to Wood Glen Hall over a year ago and we are all so happy we did. Holly was extremely quick in responding to my inquiry when we were looking at the possibility of moving my mom from her home in Idaho. We grew up in Goleta and while my parents retired to Idaho in 1990 where my father was born, my mom had some roots still in the Santa Barbara area. After my father passed away in 2007 my mom stayed in Idaho for 16 years until we felt that she needed to be close to us and somewhere where she could get more care than we could offer. Not an easy decision for any of us to make. I now know that without a doubt we made the right decision. She absolutely loves living at Wood Glen and tells me this all the time! We were able to decorate my moms room however we liked. She has a small fridge, TV and computer and downsizing from a large house wasn't as challenging as I thought. It was the right time! She loves the variety of daily activities that are offered, the delicious meals, the lovely grounds and especially the caring staff. There is live music weekly which my mom always looks forward to hearing. Her trash is emptied daily, her room cleaned weekly and the entire grounds inside and out are kept constantly clean and neat. She has had her share of difficulties this year, she is 93, and we are so glad she is now close to us and under watchful care. Wood Glen is like our extended family and we know she is in a safe environment where she has made so many new friends. I'm now able to visit my mom many times a week and I have gotten to know many of the residents and wonderful staff myself. During all the major holidays the hallways, gorgeous library, wonderful dining room and beautiful outdoor patios are decorated so tastefully to celebrate the occasion. They even celebrated Oktoberfest last year with a live band and had a Casino Night earlier this year with gaming tables, live music and a raffle made possible by donations from the community. We are so happy my mom lives at Wood Glen Hall! Thank you everyone on the staff for your tireless efforts to make this a comfortable and loving home for so many of our seniors.

My mom has been a Wood Glen for over six years. Wood Glen is extraordinarily beautiful because of its lovely flowers, trees and landscaping. The interior rooms are welcoming and open for use for a wide range of activities. My siblings and I sometimes joke that our mom has more of a social life than we do. She takes art and music and art classes and engages in well planned activities by the social coordinator. The meals are good, desserts are especially good, as we can attest. Every holiday is celebrated and special activities are planned. Our family especially enjoyed our 4th of July gathering with our mom as you can see by this picture. Yes, mom is the one in the center and she thoroughly enjoys and takes advantage of all that Wood Glen has to offer. The best part of my mom being at Wood Glen is that the staff is so helpful, considerate, and understanding of her and her health needs. Mom is 99 years young and the friendly staff keep her safe, engage her in conversation and fun filled activities, and care about her well-being. What more could a daughter want for her mother.

Wood Glen Hall has been my mother's home for 6 years. While she enjoys pretty good health she has had some episodes requiring additional assistance. The staff has been so considerate and supportive and patient with her recovery, treating her as one of their family. Wood Glen is so clean and bright with a great walking area, complete with many birds and a friendly squirrel. I live a distance from my mom but always feel she is being cared for at Wood Glen. She loves the desserts! My mother experiences a continuing longevity with a good quality of life due to the Wood Glen environment. Thank you!
