Cedarhurst took wonderful care of my mother during her respite stay. She loved all the staff and talked about how kind everyone was to her. She also enjoyed every meal, especially Mama' Biscuits and the blueberry muffins! The attention of the staff and their professionalism gave me great comfort while I was helping my father recover from his surgery. Thanks so much Cedarhurst!
Response from the owner

We truly appreciate your trust and your kind words about Cedarhurst of Canton, and we’re grateful we could be there for your family when you needed us.

We moved our mom into Cedarhurst today and we can see it will be a positive experience. We're grateful we snagged the last room available. Kara Duke went the extra mile in getting us in and settled. ALL the staff, including the engineer were hospitable and caring. My siblings and I did a lot of homework in checking out places....and we are pleased with our choice!

My 84-year-old brother has been living at Cedarhurst at Canton for three months now. All is going well. He is comfortable there. The staff, led by executive director, Kimberly Taylor, and marketing director, Kara Duke, have been extremely helpful in every way the family has asked of them to assist in getting my brother settled and well-cared for.
Response from the owner

We were profoundly disappointed—and frankly alarmed—to receive a phone call at 2:00 PM on a Friday informing us that my father’s needs allegedly exceeded their capacity for care. We were then instructed that we must secure an external caregiver and present a finalized plan by 5:00 PM that same day, or they would bring one in at our expense and charge it to our account. What makes this situation even more troubling is that, despite their admission that they could not adequately meet his needs, they refused to release us from our contractual obligation, insisting instead on enforcing the 30-day notice period. This sequence of events reflects a level of disregard and inflexibility that is both surprising and deeply concerning. We are left not only disappointed, but genuinely unsettled by the manner in which our family has been treated during an already difficult time.
Response from the owner
Kristen, thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how difficult and emotional situations like this can be for families, and we’re sorry this experience felt unsettling. Our team works to communicate openly and act in the best interest of each resident’s safety and well-being, especially when needs change. We recognize this was a challenging situation and regret that it led to frustration for your family. We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to provide additional context and address any remaining concerns. Please feel free to contact our Divisional Director of Operations at 630-918-2299.
