Very nice place to live and I like living here.

When our mother-in-law suffered a fall and fractured her hip while at home, it was an incredibly difficult time for our family. Fortunately, she was able to move into Waltonwood Assisted Living. The level of care she received during her recovery made a world of difference. The staff acted quickly and compassionately after her fall, ensuring she got the medical attention she needed and transitioning her smoothly into a care plan that included physical therapy. The therapy team was outstanding—not only skilled and professional, but also patient and encouraging. They worked with her daily to help regain strength and mobility, always at a pace that respected her limits while still motivating her. Throughout her recovery, the nursing staff monitored her closely and communicated with us consistently. We were never left wondering how she was doing. They made sure her pain was managed, that she felt safe, and that she maintained a sense of dignity through it all. Even while healing, she was included in light social activities and always had a sense of connection with the community. The facility itself remained clean, peaceful, and supportive—everything we hoped for in a care environment. Watching her regain independence after such a serious injury was remarkable, and we truly credit the care team at Waltonwood for that progress. We are deeply grateful for their professionalism, empathy, and dedication. My mom has dementia and aphasia and has been in the memory care unit since January. I can’t say enough good things about this facility. My mom is incredibly well taken care of and her being there has afforded me a peace of mind I hadn’t had in a few years. The staff is amazing and really cares for the residents. There seems to be low turnover. Sheryl (the Wellness Coordinator) is fantastic with the residents and has become my mom’s go-to person for any needs when I’m not there. And Rachel (the Life Enrichment Manager) is an absolute gem- she is the perfect person in the perfect job for her. She coordinates fun activities and field trip and adventures and makes sure to memorialize these with pictures and videos which she frequently shares. It’s like having a kid away at summer camp. I have been thrilled with the way the program is run and I know my mom is well taken care of.

I was a resident of Waltonwood for 2 months in 2023 and as it turned out, that was 2 months too long. Throughout my stay, I experienced numerous examples of subpar service and care along with inept administrators. Waltonwood’s three administrators see nothing, hear nothing, and know nothing. While there were times the aides were helpful, unfortunately, this was not the norm. There were multiple occasions when a call for assistance (ex. to transfer from my wheelchair, attend to personal needs, to assist after I took a fall) took over 20 minutes for an aide to arrive. When I tried to address this, both an aide and the night-time concierge told me that the call button was for “emergencies only”. The administration admitted that they were understaffed and at times had only one aide to approximately 30 residents. One of the administrators, “K”, employs bullying tactics and can be retaliatory with residents. After I had a fall on the slippery floor in my bathroom, “K” was combative and hostile. My family member was present for this and witnessed “K’s” aggression. To say she fabricates facts is a gross understatement and she engages the residents in her personal life. Her behavior is both inappropriate and unprofessional. The activities coordinator lacks imagination and is not open to resident suggestions. The resident morale reflects staff incompetence and residents, who enroll at a costly fee, deserve better.
