Village Glen of Geneva Crossing

I recommend Village Glen without hesitation and with great confidence. The facility has manny assets that make your loved one’s day to day living a quality experience. The facility is exceptionally clean and well maintained. There are 3 large common areas where activities, movies, community TV watching, and socializing take place. Additionally, there is a dining room that also serves meals as well as other activities. Activities include exercise/stretching, BINGO, trivia, cooking, live musical entertainment, and a host of other stimulating options. But the greatest asset is the caring staff who work tirelessly and compassionately with your loved one. Many of the staff have worked there for years which attests to a great working environment and happy and well-trained people who provide personalized care. My mother lived at The Highlands, the independent senior apartment living building (with a covered garage!), chose to move to assisted living at Arbor Village, and finally moved to Village Glen when she required the services of a memory care facility. My mom flourished under their care for a total of 17 years. I have been able to see 1st hand how well the residents are treated with respect and dignity. I cannot say enough about how pleased I have been with the care Mom received from Andy Kerwin’s facilities and wonderful team members. It was truly the very best place my mom could have spent her golden years and she lived to celebrate her 100th birthday at Village Glen.

I can not think of one negative thing to share. The Village Glen Memory Care Unit of Geneva Crossings was the perfect place to arrange for care of my mother when I could no longer give her all the care she needed. She was able to have her own familiar furnishings and decor. It became my Mom's new community, gifting me the ability to be just a daughter again. The staff not only performed their duties with excellence in mind, they added their own compassion and personal touches in their interaction with my Mom. My Mom was there for almost 1 1/2 years before she passed. With the help of Hospice ,the last few months, she was able to stay in place surrounded by the same familiar staff. I should also mention that I did not notice any staff turn-over during Mom's use of the facility and I am aware that many have been with the facility for a long time. That says a lot, that the management retains their employees.

My wife has been living at Village Glen for the past 18 months. She was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's approximately 10 years ago and progressed to the point that we could no longer properly care for her at home. It was a very tough decision to move my mate of 40 years out of the house, but Andy Kerwin and his entire staff are incredible people and made the transition as easy as possible. While Village Glenn is beautiful and immaculate, the real story is every team member that works with Andy in care, programming, food service, facility maintenance, and creating the positive caring culture at Village Glenn - they are all truly amazing people! Every interaction I have had with Staff has been wonderful. They are true angels who deeply care about each and every resident as if they were their own family member. While Alzheimer's is one of the worst things I have ever experienced or imagined, Village Glenn checks all the boxes for families requiring special care. We recently moved our mom into Village Glen Memory Care, and it all needed to happen very quickly. Plus it was the holidays; not ideal timing for anyone. Nonetheless the responsiveness to our mom’s need and the understanding and steps taken by all involved have been nothing short of miraculous. From our first contact with the staff to the admission process to Mom’s first day in her new home, we are so grateful. It was all so comforting. What a beautiful neighborhood we found for our mom. Words alone cannot express how much I appreciate Andy and his entire staff at Villiage Glenn. My mom has been a resident a little over a year now and knowing that she is loved and cared for by such compassionate, knowledgeable and dedicated staff certainly places myself and my family at peace. She is so happy at Villiage Glenn! She is 97 years old and continues to move mountains! She recently recovered from an illness and we were skeptical as one never knows their end of life and when God wants to take them home. Well, with the help of the staff, their dedication and the nurses being open to some of my suggestions that I thought would benefit her in her recovery, she is doing great!! They care so much!!!!! Even when things get tough, the staff come together to help each other and make sure the residents get the BEST CARE.
