I am writing to express serious concerns about the significant decline in care quality and professionalism at Castle County since our family's experience began. When my mother first moved to Valley House, Castle County operated under different leadership that we trusted and respected. Based on that positive experience, we made the difficult decision to transfer her to your facility. However, the environment and standard of care have changed dramatically. I have previously raised my concerns with both the Wellness Coordinator-T and the Executive Director-Cheryl. Unfortunately, I felt my feedback was dismissed and disregarded. After speaking with other families—including those whose loved ones have since passed—I have learned this experience is not isolated. On multiple occasions when passing the staff office, I have observed the entire staff seated together, using repeated profanity. I have also witnessed inappropriate physical behavior between staff members, including what can only be described as "twerking" on one another. Despite bringing these issues to leadership's attention, no meaningful action or acknowledgment has followed. These observations raise serious questions about supervision, workplace culture, and whether resident care is being prioritized appropriately. I believe the Board of Directors should be made aware of these ongoing issues. However, families currently have no direct means of contacting the Board, which creates a significant gap in accountability and transparency.

We are truly inspired by the exceptional care provided by Alxus and her team across all three communities. Valley House, Cantrell House, and Victoria House are beacons of hope, offering elders a haven of kindness, compassion, and warmth. The facilities shine with cleanliness and meticulous maintenance, while the culinary experience is a delightful journey of flavors. Spacious rooms and beaming residents are a testament to the joy that permeates these communities. Innovative activities, such as the recent wine walk in Parker , bring delight. We highly recommend considering these extraordinary communities for your loved ones.

My brother was at Valley House for 3 years and it was the perfect place for him. It has a very homey environment, with caregivers who connected with him with love and patience. Whenever I was looking for assisted living for him I was delighted that there was an opening, because I had been aware of the facility since it was built. It's part of a non-profit created by a couple of local ladies who saw a need for good senior care in Castle Rock. Little did I know that some day my brother would benefit from their hard work that was driven by their good hearts.
