Our 86 year old mother has been at Valencia Home for six months and we couldn’t be happier with this place. The caregivers really do care about the residents, are extremely kind and compassionate to their needs. We feel so fortunate to be able to have gotten her into this lovely home that’s close to family, has roughly ten residents and feels like a community of elders. It’s a beautiful converted home, has never been smelly (some certainly are!) when we visited and we know our mom really likes her care providers. After visiting some large facilities, we concluded this is the best fit for our mom who progressed to requiring 24 hour care. We like also the all-inclusive model where we pay her monthly fee that includes everything and they don’t add on nonsense for hygiene help etc that other companies do. Thank you so much to Jay, Samantha, Jesse and others who have positively impacted our mom at this late stage of her life. Also to Jessica who got us settled here, answers any questions we have and competently handles several of the homes that the company runs. Thank you again Valencia Home for making it a positive experience for our mother (and us).

My amazing 98-year-old grandma spent 7 months at Valencia. We and Grandma fell in love with a few of the caregivers, so this shout-out is to Viky, Jazmin, and Jeraldine! Grandma (GG) wasn't easy but they all came around to her and got their "boops" on the nose and "pats" of appreciation. The caregivers are really what makes the place and these 3 ladies were exemplary in their care for our GG.

Beware of this place. New personnel took over in the last 60 days. My mother passed due to their incompetency. My wife and I saw residents wanting water and the staff would ignore them. Staff was angry when my mother who had Alzheimer’s became belligerent. They wanted to over medicate her to make her a complaint zombie. I was in the process of wanting to move her and it ended up being too late. This disorganized company is more interested in profits over people. The operations director is a real peach. It’s beneath her to return your phone calls. Most of the staff can’t stand her and were always disparaging about her which is something you don’t tell a POA.

Response from the owner

Dear Timothy - firstly my apologies on the passing of your mother. We are deeply sorry for your loss and understand how difficult it must have been for you and your family. Providing compassionate and high-quality care to our residents has always been our top priority, and we take all feedback seriously. Over the past several years, we implemented significant improvements, including the hiring of a new, highly dedicated manager who is committed to resident safety, individualized care, and staff training. Our team has worked diligently to enhance communication, responsiveness, and overall care standards to ensure the well-being of all residents. Caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia can be complex, and we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for everyone. While we are always focused on providing appropriate care interventions, we must also ensure the safety of all residents and staff. Belligerent behavior that may pose risks to others, and any care decisions are made with the best interest of the individual and the community in mind. We are disappointed to hear about your concerns and encourage you to reach out to us directly so we can discuss this further. We value transparency and continuous improvement and would appreciate the opportunity to address any remaining concerns.

My 88 year old mom with extremely limited mobility is living at The Valencia House. It was hard to let her go, but 24/7 was mandated. The caregivers/ staff are polite and kind and I've always found mom, neat, clean and as engaged as she wants to be. Thank you for taking good care of a sweet, little elderly lady .. it means the world to our family!

Response from the owner

Thank you, Fern. Your comments are greatly appreciated. Our care team really enjoys your mother. They take great pride in what they do and it shows in their amazing care! It's an honor to have your mother as part of our family here in our home.
