Courtney has been my nurse for many years and she is so good to me and my family. She’s an excellent nurse and she really cares. I recommend her to anyone. I thank God that she is with me.

-10/5 STARS Our experience with Utopia Homecare was completely unacceptable and, in my opinion, placed our family member at serious risk. Our loved one was discharged from a short term rehabilitation facility with Utopia Homecare arranged to provide follow up care. We contacted the agency three days before discharge, again on the day of discharge, and then every day for the next five days requesting that someone come assess her. Despite repeated calls, no one came. It took six days after discharge before a nurse finally arrived. Upon evaluating our family member, the nurse immediately stated that she should never have been discharged from the skilled nursing facility and advised that she be taken back to the hospital immediately. No patient, especially an elderly or medically fragile individual, should have to wait nearly a week for an initial home health assessment after discharge from a rehabilitation facility. Timely follow up care is essential to a safe transition home. If an agency does not have the staffing or capacity to accept new patients, it should not be taking referrals. Accepting patients without the ability to provide prompt care places vulnerable people at unnecessary risk. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Utopia Homecare. If you are searching for home health services for someone you love, I strongly encourage you to carefully consider other options. Our family will never use this agency again.

Response from the owner

We are very sorry to hear that you and your family had such a frustrating experience during what we understand was a difficult and stressful time. At Utopia Home Care, we strive to provide timely, compassionate care and take concerns about delays in service very seriously. While we cannot discuss the details of any individual's care in a public forum due to patient privacy, the experience you described does not reflect the standard of service we aim to provide. We would appreciate the opportunity to review your concerns and better understand what occurred. Please contact our office and ask to speak with our Director of Quality Assurance so we can investigate the matter thoroughly and address any issues identified. She can be reached at our headquarters main line: 203-466-3050 We value all feedback, as it helps us improve the care and service we provide to our patients and their families.

I had the pleasure of meeting nurse Courtney. She was my nurse after a hard surgery. She was professional, knowledgeable, thorough and very sweet. She made me feel that I would get through this. I highly recommend Utopia, especially nurse Courtney!

I work for an agency who supports people with special needs. As a director, I am very pleased with the care and support that I see from Utopia. Utopia had the foresight to dedicate a team to help provide medical care that is above my agency's level of training. They have been quick to find solutions to a challenging set of circumstances that often lie outside of anyone's control. Utopia communicates promptly, compassionately, professionally, and above what is typically expected. Our relationship is such, that it is as if we work for the same agency! The visiting nurse care is tremendous as I am often alerted before my staff can even get to me! The individuals that I support love the care they receive from Home Health Aides and the Visiting Nurse! On the backend, Utopia is tapped into major hospitals - all I have to do is send a simple referral and they make it all happen. I am very pleased with Utopia Home Care's support with visiting nurses, medication management, home health aide support, and with dealing with insurance issues. I appreciate their care and professionalism!
