The care at this facility is outstanding, professional and friendly. In particular Certified Nurse Assistant David Camacho tops the list for going beyond the call in providing great attention to detail, assuring you have everything you need with a smile and humor. He really brightens your stay.

My mother was sent to the Sequoias for skilled nursing and rehab after a respiratory event at Stanford Hospital. She was ignored for almost the entire 10 days she was there. She was left sitting in her feces for several hours at a time. She contracted a fairly severe fungal infection all over her peritineal area. The nurses and CNA's kicked the caregivers out of the room while they changed her (I think to hide the infection). The nurses were not friendly. A couple of them could never be found. On each shift, one nurse in particular could not even be found by the CNAs. She was left to her own devices when meal time came. Left in about a 75 degree angle to eat on her own. When it came time to be released (at my insistence), I was not given any instructions, drugs were not discussed with me, and they wanted me to signed the discharge documents on my way out the door. My mother had not seen a nurse or CNA for discharge or the prior 4 hours. When she arrived home, what should we find, but a that she was sitting on feces again. Overall: no attention given, denial of any poor care, no rehabilitation progress in 10 days. Stay Away!!
Response from the owner
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your mother’s recent stay with us. I am truly sorry to hear that her experience did not meet your expectations. We take all feedback seriously, particularly when it involves the care and well-being of our residents. As you may know, we are a five-star skilled nursing community and consistently meet or exceed state and federal staffing and care standards. Our survey results and quality outcomes reflect this commitment, and we have established protocols to ensure residents are checked on at least every two hours and that discharge instructions and follow-up information are thoroughly reviewed with residents and families. That said, we recognize that each individual experience matters. After reviewing your comments, our team was not aware of the concerns you described during your mother’s stay or at the time of discharge. Typically, when concerns are brought to our attention, our clinical, nursing, and social work teams work quickly to address them in real time. We regret that we did not have the opportunity to do so in this instance. We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your concerns and to review your mother’s care in more detail. Open communication is important to us, and we value the chance to learn from feedback and ensure our services reflect the high standards we strive to maintain. Please feel free to contact me at your convenience so we can discuss this further. Sincerely, Sue Fairley Executive Director
