The Residence at Salem Woods

I have had the absolute pleasure of working with this phenomenal establishment, especially with the help of the Director, Heidi Cole. I encountered a very difficult situation last summer; the staff truly saved the day! My mom was transferred to their establishment in the middle of August, (and I believe from memory), she was home by October. Julianne, who was in management of the medical assistants and staff on hand, went above and beyond with all her communication. To highlight how helpful Julianne was, she had also just started at Benchmark. I appreciate her compassion, and professionalism. She is an asset to any company! These situations are extremely stressful because as our loved ones age, we often find ourselves, completely overwhelmed, and it is not unusual for all responsibility to fall on one person. I want to thank Benchmark for their exceptional care provided for my Mother in 2025. I realize this review comes much too late, although, better late than never. If you are looking for an assisted living facility that genuinely cares about its staff and residents, I highly recommend using this hidden gem. To every person working to help enhance the life of our seniors, I genuinely thank you all so much. To Ms. Heidi Cole—you are nothing less than exceptional and a class act! I am eternally grateful!

Wonderful staff! Treated my mom and dad like they were family. Fabulous activities onsite and group trips to some wonderful local sites. Couldn't recommend a better place to someone looking for an assisted living facility that cares!

Salem Woods was a very good choice for Joan. She was well taken care of and very happy. Many on the staff from the receptionists to the nurses and aides truly took a personal interest in her welfare and comfort.

Wonderful place, have a lot of activities for the residence

What a great decision it was for our family to decide on Salem Woods for Mom a year and a half ago. The entire staff has been so kind, compassionate and responsive to Mom and our family. The communication has been outstanding, and the staff routinely goes above and beyond our expectations. Salem Woods is welcoming, very well maintained, clean and always beautifully appointed, changing with the seasons and holidays. But it's the people that make it a truly special place.
