Recently I had a group of 10 friends visit to celebrate four different birthdays. The group included people from Philadelphia and Ashland, OR. All the Lodge staff made everyone feel as if they had all arrived at a wonderful family gathering. The dining staff in particular, Chef Jen, Hailey, Noah, Layla and Gabrielle served us amazing food for two lunches and a dinner. Table service was impeccable. Stephanie, the Activities Director, made it possible for us to have the Garden Room available all day for games and conversation. Everyone was so impressed with the warm hospitality freely given to friends of a me as a resident of The Lodge. And all said they had not seen such service at other facilities. This is a great place and me and my friends are all so thankful to the staff and management.

Response from the owner

Stephen, we're so glad that we were able to go above and beyond your expectations! Thank you for your particular comments about housekeeping. We will be sure to pass them along.

My BFF has been at The Lodge for nearly four years. There have been several people in the position of Director of Wellness during this time. I have worked closely with all of them to develop a care plan that suits our needs. It was not until Alesha was promoted to Assistant Director of Wellness a few months ago that we have been able to formulate a plan that addresses our needs. Alesha has worked tirelessly to put this care plan together and make sure it is implemented by the staff every single day. My most sincere thanks to Alesha for her dedication to excellence. The Lodge is lucky to have her on their team.

Response from the owner

Hi, Johnette. Thank you so much for rating your experience with us so highly!

As the child of a resident, I’m so happy to know that the staff are always looking out for my parents’ well-being—not just physically but emotionally too. Recently, my mom returned from a doctor’s appointment weighed down by news that she might need surgery. One of the care staff, Joseph S., noticed her demeanor as she exited the elevator and stopped to ask if she was okay. She wasn’t, and her emotions poured out: worry, stress, and uncertainty about how this would affect Dad and his care, since she does so much for him. Joseph talked her through the wave of overwhelm and assured her that the staff at The Lodge would be there to help Dad if she couldn’t. Mom described it as being glued back together so she could face the conversation with Dad about her news without falling apart again. Joseph doesn’t just look after the daily needs of the residents—he clearly pays attention to their emotional needs too. Knowing people like Joseph are there at The Lodge makes it easier to be far away from my folks.

Response from the owner

We deeply respect how Joseph noticed your mom's distress and offered real emotional support. Stories like this reflect exactly who we strive to be.
