I loved the small town feel but the food choices was bad. We were all served the same thing with no balance to the menu. Served a LOT of pasta dishes. Rarely were we served a salad. Broccoli was always over cooked and mushy. Meals were not good. I said something to the head there and he told me that all the meals were planned by a dietitian. My thought was. You need a new citation. Where I moved to, I have a wonderful selection every day from a light serving of salad or soup and salad. A wide variety of choices and I can eat when I want to instead of ...be there 40 minutes before served so you can tell them what you want or don't want. At the new senior housing i have moved to I have a menu to order from and a 2 hour period to go for meals. They have a dining room and a Bistro. Either place you can order what YOU want, not what they tell you you can have. Never served so much cake in my life. There were 2 diabetics at my table or 5 and they were not given a choice. You eat it or go hungry. I left because of the awful food. I was sad to leave because I have so many friends and my church there but could not stomach the food served.

The people here are so good. My mother has been here less than a year and they helped make her transition smooth. Mom loves the activities and the food! They are here for her, and her family, always making us welcome. We are so thankful for Teal Lake Senior Living.
