Sunrise of Alexandria

In addition to being a beautiful place. what I noticed most when I toured Sunrise was that the staff and residents were happy, which means a lot. When my mother went into Sunrise from a rehab center, she couldn’t even stand on her own without falling. After only a month, she is walking now with a walker and doesn’t need her wheelchair except for when she is really tired. She is on the memory-care floor, but after a month of being there, she is definitely more alert and interacts with people more. I am amazed at the genuine concern and individual care the staff provides (even little things like knowing my mother likes her coffee black and doesn’t like oatmeal). I come from out of state and stay overnight for a few days as often as I can, and I look forward to going there! I don’t think I could find a better care facility for my mother than Sunrise. It has really eased my stress level knowing that my mother is safe and truly cared about at Sunrise.

I happened to come across your facility by chance. Even from the outside, something about it caught my attention, and I had a feeling it might be a senior care community. After checking the map, I realized my intuition was correct. In Turkey, I was one of the owners of a similar institution for many years, so this field is very close to my heart. The staff at sunrise of Alexandria are like family to each other and to the residents, and also to the family of the residents. My mother is a resident of the memory care facility and she has been treated with a lot of care, respect and patience. I don’t worry about her safety whatsoever and she has many opportunities of socialize, which makes her happy. The rooms and common areas are always clean and although everyone works very hard at their job, everyone has a smile to greet you. Also their brunches are outstanding! I’m very glad I found this facility. It suits my mother extremely well.

As a seasoned home health nurse, I have been to more Assisted Livings in NOVA area than I can count. I can tell you this is hands down my favorite, for many reasons. First, it’s small community which gives it s more “home like” feeling which is so important when someone is transitioning from their home to an assisted living environment. Second, the activities department is phenomenal. They are always doing something fun, and entertaining for the residents. Not just outings but parties and events inside the building for those who might not be able to get out. Lastly, and most importantly, the staff is top notch. Some of the staff have been there for years, and the residents become their family. They’re very attentive and go above and beyond for the residents. I would call out a few of my favorites, but I’m afraid I might forget someone, and they are all truly exceptional. Their work comes from the heart. 😊

Having recently partnered with Sunrise of Alexandria as a Home Health Physical Therapist, I truly feel like I have found my professional home here! This community is amazing—small enough that I get to know everyone, and the residents are always happy and friendly. The whole place has a wonderful sense of community, with fun and engaging activities for everyone. The entire team, from the Executive Director and Wellness Nurse down to the caregivers, is stellar. They are super welcoming, highly approachable, and take suggestions seriously, responding quickly to ensure the best care. They genuinely care for their residents, and it shows! I love providing care alongside this wonderful, dedicated team, and I would absolutely send one of my own parents here. Highly recommend them!
