The nursing team is careless they don't tend to their residents with urgency. Kristina talks to her staff with attitude and belittles them. There is a lot of negative surrounding this place, i was given attitude by the nurses and the management from the independent living building. I do not recommend bringing your loved ones here.
Response from the owner
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We are disappointed to hear that your experience left you with this impression, as our team works hard to provide compassionate care and a respectful environment for residents, families, and staff alike. We take feedback regarding communication, responsiveness, and professionalism seriously and continuously work to support a positive experience throughout our community. Because resident care and privacy are important to us, we are unable to discuss specific situations publicly, but we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to better understand your concerns.

While there were a few positive aspects—most notably a younger male nurse who stood out for his care, as well as the facility’s cleanliness—our overall experience warrants a one-star review. Our greatest frustration was the lack of communication. From the beginning, we made it clear that our father is a new patient with dementia and is unable to communicate what is happening, so timely and accurate updates were extremely important to our family. Unfortunately, that level of communication was not provided. The lack of updates and transparency regarding our father’s true health status was incredibly frustrating. In one instance, we gave approval to begin a new medication, only to receive another call three days later asking for permission to start the same medication we had already authorized—resulting in three unnecessary days of delay. If communication and consistent updates about your loved one’s care are important to you, I would not recommend this facility.
Response from the owner
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate your kind words about our staff member and the cleanliness of our facility—those are both very important to us. We are sincerely sorry, however, that your overall experience did not meet expectations, particularly regarding communication. We understand how critical timely, clear, and consistent updates are—especially when caring for a loved one with dementia who cannot advocate for themselves. What you described is not the level of coordination or responsiveness we strive to provide. We value your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we need to improve. If you’re open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly to learn more and work toward making things right. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

My mother was transferred to La Loma from an ICU and hospital stay. The nurses, assistants, food service, physical therapy, and reception staff were all exceptional. Pedro, the social worker, was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. He went above and beyond on every issue.
