Summerfield Senior Living of Hammond

My wife and I were thrust into a hard to handle situation when my Father-in-law needed to find an assisted living center to call home. We needed help and quickly. Before visiting Summerfield, my wife and I both felt as though we were stumbling in the dark, just trying to do what was best for my father-in-law and little help during the process could found. We felt a bit helpless . And to say Summerfield was the answer to our struggles, is an understatement. From day one the management and staff amazed us around every turn. From the moment we walked in the doors at Summerfield, we felt heard and understood. During the entire time my father-in-law stayed there, we always were met with the help and guidance we needed. But more importantly the entire experience for my father-in-law living there among the community lacked nothing. They constantly went above and beyond to meet his needs each and every day. And when we had questions, they had real answers. I can highly recommend Summerfield to anyone looking for a place to live out their lives in a secure, loving home/community.

For the nearly 3 years that my mother lived at Summerfield in Hammond our experience was wonderful. All the staff were very caring and provided compassionate care and services to my mother. It was very comforting knowing that she was in good hands when we were not able to be present to care for her or provide company to her. The other residents of Summerfield were like family to her and she enjoyed the many activities that were scheduled there on a daily basis. I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone looking to find a great place for a loved one to enjoy themselves in a retirement community setting. I personnally visited my mother on a regular basis at different times of the day and night and never found anything that was out of the ordinary or suspicious of anything other than an exceptional place to be.

After searching for an assisted living residence for my wife needing "memory care" my step children and I decided on Summerfield of Hammond for her care and freedom that she needs as a dementia patient. I must say we did not jump or choose the first facility that we found that had an opening and I am sure that we searched for weeks and interviewed with at least ten (10) in all. I wanted to make sure my darling wife was well care for and this place fit the bill with walking paths outside, parties, concerts weekly and other activities that keep the patients engaged and busy! May I say that speaking personally with Ms. Tina when we first interviewed and considered installing my wife here was a breath of fresh air who answered all of my questions (and believe me I had a three page questionaire made up) satisfactorily and assured me that my wife would be well cared for and I could call her personally (which I do during business hours at times) to find out how my wife is getting along. I can honestly say that myself and her children think the world of this facility and their employees who are so nice whenever we visit. I would like to say that if anyone is considering installing a loved one with dementia in the facility, just go ahead and do it because I can say you won't be sorry!!

Our experience here has been amazing. The staff is caring and they took very good care of my mother. We started in a regular apartment and pretty quickly moved to Memory Care, but they didn't have a bed up there yet. They stepped up and took care of my mother in her apartment until they had a bed upstairs. They didn't just do the work they did it caringly, gently, and always talked with her. You won't find a better place. We looked at several places and even so, some were very nice I can tell you the care your loved ones will receive will be Excellent!!!

My mother moved here about six months ago and is very happy here. The staff is genuinely caring and compassionate. There are always fun activities to engage in and she has made many new friends. Family and friends are made to feel welcomed and encouraged to spend time with her and participate in the activities with her as much as possible. The meals are tasty and the facility is always clean, well maintained, and organized. It is a great comfort to know that she is safe, happy, and part of a loving community. We feel blessed to have her here.
