Dad was here for rehab, after a surgery. It was the biggest mistake of our lives. This incompetent facility staff was found by the TX Board of Nursing to have made major medical errors in administering his medication, that cause his horrific death in front of seven family members. The TX Board of Nursing found that the nurse had done what we claimed and stated the facility had destroyed the medical records for that day and created a more corporate friendly version. They stated nothing happen in that room that was out of the ordinary. Cause of Death by the hospital was aspiration. His family helplessly watched, as he begged for help with his eyes. We watch helplessly as he trashed his arms and legs for his last breath. His family then became the first responders, checking vitals, and providing CPR, as the staff NURSES just watched...But according to Signature Pointe on the Lake management records...they acted appropriately that day. You may ask, how they are able to get away with this? They and many other facilities are able operate with abandon, because of Prop12 Tort Reform law. A law written by THEIR Corporate lobbyists, protecting their interest, even if it means sacrificing the lives of our most vulnerable. BEWARE! Put video cameras in your loved ones rooms, record every meeting with audio, as you have few rights. Protect them anyway you can, because you and your loved one, HAVE NO RECOURSE. Stay away from Signature Pointe on the Lake!
