The woman who works at reception (white, dark hair , young) is the most unpleasant person I've ever seen working in a lobby. From the start, she pretended not to understand my English. Of course, I have an accent, but I can express myself well. I had to repeat myself several times, and she even made me spell it out. I tried to show her my phone, and she suddenly said, "DON'T PUT YOUR PHONE IN MY FACE!" She refused to help me with my request. People who work in these places are supposed to be friendly and helpful. She hates her job.

Place is nice but the majority of the staff are rude even to each other. They need to hire folks with more manners

I had a very frustrating and ultimately concerning experience with Sage Glendale while coordinating care for my grandmother, and I would not recommend this facility. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and often unclear. I had to repeatedly follow up just to get basic information, and when responses did come through, they were often incomplete or contradictory. This made an already stressful situation significantly harder to manage. What became most alarming was how they handled a medical issue. My grandmother developed a wound, and we were suddenly told that they were not equipped to handle that level of care—something that was never clearly communicated to us upfront. Instead of proactively setting expectations, this only came up when it became a problem. We were then told she would be formally discharged, with a letter to follow the next day. Given the lack of clarity and confidence at that point, we moved quickly to transition her out. After we took action, they backtracked on the discharge—seemingly to avoid liability—rather than handling the situation transparently from the start. That kind of inconsistency is unacceptable when you are trusting a facility with the care of a loved one. The overall environment felt very corporate and impersonal. While a few staff members clearly cared and tried their best, they were the exception—not the norm. The broader system lacked accountability, coordination, and clear communication. For the cost, I expected a much higher level of transparency, professionalism, and care. Instead, this experience created confusion, stress, and a loss of trust at a critical time. I do not recommend Sage Glendale. Families should be very cautious and ask detailed questions about care limitations upfront, because those boundaries were not made clear to us until it was too late.
