I rarely leave reviews but in this case I chose to as I hope it will help others who are considering Riverglen House as an option for a loved one. Our Dad moved to Riverglen House several weeks ago after it became apparent that he needed more support. To say I have been impressed with Kim, Joe and the rest of the staff would be an understatement. They have truly demonstrated that they care about their residents and their residents’ families. All questions and concerns are promptly addressed. Residents and their families are treated with respect and kindness. The facility is very clean, the apartments are bright with lots of sunlight, the food is excellent and they offer several activities for those who are interested. I have stayed overnight at my Dad’s apartment a couple of times. On those occasions, Kim and Joe have been most welcoming. Kim, Joe and the staff work hard to create a warm, friendly atmosphere at Riverglen House. Mel (LNA) has been exceptionally caring with respect to Dad’s health issues and medications. We feel very fortunate that Dad was able to find a place where he can get the assistance he needs while still maintaining his independence. Thank you, Kim, Joe, Mel and the rest of the staff at Riverglen House for all that you do.

A few months ago my father, recognizing that he could use a little support, decided to move from the home he had lived in for 40+ years. From the moment we contacted River Glen, I was impressed with the responsiveness and concern that Kim showed as we worked through options. In less than a month from our initial inquiry, my Dad moved into his new home. Kim, Joe and the staff made the transition easy for him and for his family. Recently, Dad had the need to go to LRH for a few days. The staff was helpful in evaluating him and helping me get him to the ER. Kim reached out to check on his welfare and everyone was so welcoming when he returned. Change is difficult, but River Glen made it easy. Dad is happy and though he is still independent, we feel better knowing thst he is getting the aupport he needs now and into the future. I highly recommend checking with River Glen if your family faced a similar situation.

Thanks Bill for your kind words, and we love your Dad! He is a true gentleman, and he has transitioned quickly to his new home. Its nice for us to see such consistent family support and that has helped him adjust to his new surroundings.

Exercise caution, ask very specific questions, explore all potential options, and take your time. There are plenty of units available at any given time and no need to be pressured when making such a monumental decision. Perhaps even challenge the ED in a small way initially, to gauge any reaction or change in tone realistically and mindfully. There are some phenomenal people here, but unfortunately, they do not wield much, if any power. 10/25/23 Too little, too late

I am the Executive Director and was disappointed to see your 1-star review. We always encourage families -- as well as prospective employees -- to take their time and fully explore the community, and are always happy to put people in touch with current residents and families who love to share their experiences at Riverglen House. I would welcome the chance to personally chat with you about your concerns and invite you to call me at 603.444.8880 at your earliest convenience. I hope to speak with you soon. Regards, Joe.

My mother has been at Riverglen House for five months and we could not be happier. Joe Deveau and his staff are exceptional, they make sure from the first day that they take a real interest with all their residence. My mother was at another assisted living and here at Riverglen House she is always saying everyone is so nice here, the food and activities are great. We can not speak highly enough of the staff and would recommend Riverglen House for your loved ones. Thank you Joe and staff for making such a wonderful experience for my mother. Joe and his lovely team have exceeded every expectation. I moved my mom to the Riverglen house from another Assisted Living Facility out of state, in April of 2023. Joe and his team have assisted us at every step of the way, from measuring the room for her furniture, arranging the complex details of the move, mounting her tv on the wall, and, most importantly, giving my mom abundant support and care. Nikki and the wellness team have been responsive to my every question, and have attended to my mom's every need. I live locally, and when I stop in, the nurses greet me with kindness and are always eager to answer my questions and let me know how my mom has been doing. They environment is clean, homey, and welcoming. The sunny dining room is comfortable, and the food is homemade and delicious. (I know this for a fact, because they have welcomed me with open arms!) The dining staff is cheerful and accommodating to my mom's needs. The team has been creative and flexible as my mom has transitioned to her new environment, which, due to her memory and cognitive issues, has not always been easy. They have approached every challenge with compassion and are always thinking outside the box, finding ways to make her comfortable and happy. One day, when my mom was irritable, a nurse literally went to get her a cup of hot chocolate. Because my mom is still too overwhelmed to attend activities, the activities staff visit her personally, and bring special tasks to do in her room, as they are working on encouraging her to attend events, step by step. Most of all, I can feel in my heart that my mom is happy. When I visit, she has a smile on her face, and is saying "this is feeling like home.... And I have a million dollar view!" This is truly a special place, and I am grateful to the staff for providing quality and compassionate care to my mom.
