Radford Green

I was transferred to Radford Green after a brief hospitalization. Unfortunately, my stay here of 2 weeks, was unpleasant and not what I consider good care. The floor that I was on, was regularly understaffed. The CNA’s were often independent, from other agencies, and we’re not entirely familiar with routine services. Although they claim a 10 minute response time for calls, on numerous occasions, I waited over 30 minutes. At least twice, I put myself in a wheelchair and rolled down the hallway to the nurses station to get assistance. It was nearly three days before I was afforded an opportunity to wash up and brush my teeth. Housekeeping in the room was minimal, at best. I had dropped a bandage on the floor, and took a picture three days later of the trash still on the floor. On my second day at Radford, they conducted a full body check to notate any skin sores or problems. Although I had no issues upon arrival, I left with a significant rash/fungus that has taken another two weeks at home to clear. They have a whiteboard in each room to record nurse, CNA and therapist names. Only the OT and PT personnel updated the information. On another occasion, one of my medications was unavailable, no supply was ordered and subsequently skipped. On another day, there were no working blood pressure machines on the entire floor. I was told they weren’t recharged and vitals were skipped. The menu was consistently unappealing . There were some snacks that were okay. In terms of therapy, the staff did not listen to my objections, restricted my movement to a Hoyer lift, and were dismissive of my insistence on my ability to do more. I ultimately demanded to be discharged immediately, which was respected. Of course, there were some quality workers, both CNA and therapist, but my overall experience was well below average.

The quality of care and staff here are second to none!!

The team at Radford Green do a truly wonderful job. I’ve heard from several clients who have stayed there, and they consistently shared that they received exceptional care and had nothing but good things to say about their experience. It is clear that Laura and her team are compassionate, professional, and dedicated to the people they serve. I would highly recommend Radford Green to anyone looking for quality care and staff that genuinely cares.
