I have lived at Prairie Homestead for 14 years now, and am so thankful to be in this community. We are all, residents and staff, neighbors and family to each other. It is like living in a neighborhood of close-knit friends. The dining room is a joyful, happy place to be during meals; we have a variety of group activities, a monthly residents' party and outings in our buses; we have weekly worship for those who wish to gather for an ecumenical time together; both twin homes and patio homes are spacious and well-cared-for by our maintenance staff; we have a Residents' Council that provides some community representative governance and communication; we enjoy our own library; and we have ample interior-campus paths around our pond for outdoor walking, cycling and health. I'm so glad I am a part of our Prairie Homestead community.

It is a very special place. My wife and I have visited family since the beginning and lived there recently. Right up front: It is the best value in the Wichita area. Next: The staff like working there and have an excellent administrator. Amenities are eye candy for marketing in this industry but when you live somewhere your apartment is where you actually spend most of your time. Prairie Homestead has amenities that are great but no staffed bistro or soda fountain which means your money (rent) gets spent on more important things. Value is important there and Prairie Homestead strives to provide value. The duplexes have an oversized garage which means you can have your car where it stays dry and warm and just through the door. That is huge and rare for a senior living facility. So Prairie homestead is a good value with a wonderful atmosphere, terrific housing options AND the residents are wonderful people who will welcome you "home".

As a resident here for over eight years, I would highly recommend Prairie Homestead Senior Living to anyone who needs to downsize, to live on one level with no stairs, to have maintenance care for anything that should go wrong in your apartment and not to have any lawn care worries. I love the Christian faith-based environment and friendships I have made. There are many activities and interests which can keep you as busy as you want to be but don't have to be! A lovely dining room and wonderful food are available, as well as a beauty salon, fitness room, fine library, and chapel, with vespers held each Sunday afternoon. I am so thankful we moved here when we did, and my husband used to say he wished we had moved here ten years earlier!

My father, father in law, and mother in law have all resided at Prairie Homestead and I have always found the staff very helpful and caring! I also have several friends from church that reside at Prairie Homestead and I always enjoy my visits to the campus! The residents and staff are so positive and down to earth! I always leave with a smile on my face and looking forward to my next visit! Hands down the best senior living community!

What a wonderful community of residents and staff! Prairie Homestead is like living in a neighborhood where everyone knows each other and cares about all the neighbors. I never thought I wanted to leave my house, but I love being here where my repairs and lawn are taken care of, and where I'm in small group activities and have a convenient outdoor place to stroll around our pond. I moved to PH in my mid-60's, and I am so glad I chose this friendly community. Another bonus -- we're near the Wichita Art Museum, Century II for symphony and Music Theatre, and mid-way between Dillons, Walmart and Braums ... very handy!
