My mom just moved in here and it is above and beyond what the other 2 places we have had her. Everyone cares about her and the food is excellent. I am beyond happy with my mom here.

Response from the owner

My Mom has been at Parkwood Meadows almost 4 years and is very happy here and has assistance whenever needed! She enjoys participating in all the activities they provide and has made many friendships with other residents and staff. I have been a Home Health and Hospice nurse many years and in and out of many local facilities and Parkwood ranks at the top in my opinion!

Response from the owner

We are thrilled to hear that your Mom is happy at Parkwood Meadows and enjoys the activities and friendships here. Thank you for sharing your positive experience!

Would not recommend. Staff are rude and disrespectful towards residents. They do not keep them cleaned and most definitely do not make sure they have food to eat. If they cannot feed themselves they leave the food sitting there, but do not help them eat. I saw food left on my mother in-laws chest while she was bed ridden and they full well knew she could not feed herself. They would not change her when she was soiled and she would sit in it for an hour or so until they would be done taking a break. Director would not take care of this issue even though she would tell you she would. When my father in-law passed the Director said she would come to his funeral but did not. One staff member did not give my father in-law his pain meds while he was at end of life to keep him comfortable and they brought this girl to his funeral. I am disappointed with this place after they made it sound like rainbows and butterflies at move in. Stating they could take care of all the needs of two dementia residents, but did not. When my husband said something to one of the rude caregivers the Director called and reprimanded him instead of the staff. Almost like he did not have the right to protect his parents from the way they were being treated. Also laundry never comes back.

Response from the owner

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are deeply sorry for the loss of your father-in-law and for the distress and disappointment you describe regarding the care of your loved ones. The concerns you've raised about resident care, dignity, nutrition, communication, and responsiveness are very serious. We understand how upsetting it must have been to witness situations that left you feeling your mother-in-law and father-in-law were not receiving the support, compassion, and attention they deserved. We also recognize the frustration expressed regarding interactions with staff, concerns about laundry, and feeling that your concerns were not adequately addressed.

If my loved one was at Parkwood, I would be extremely concerned. They left a person who clearly has cognitive issues waiting for 2 hours to be picked up from their appt. The business called twice, more worried about the person than Parkwood was. Both times all you got was that they had a lot of pickups. I suggest you either limit appointments or add staff to accommodate them. It was so sad watching them. At one point they tried to even leave but fortunately couldn’t open the door, otherwise Parkwood would have been in a world of hurts. DO BETTER!

Response from the owner

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. What you witnessed is not the standard of care or attentiveness we expect at Parkwood Meadows, and I am truly sorry for the distress this caused. No resident or community member should ever feel unsafe, confused, or left waiting without proper support. We take situations like this very seriously. I am currently reviewing what happened so we can address the breakdown in communication and ensure our transportation and pickup procedures are followed consistently. Your feedback helps us identify where we must do better, and we are committed to making the necessary improvements.
