Overlook Senior Living

The owner and employees at The Overlook have gone over and beyond to help my family get the best care for my mom. They are such a caring staff. You are not a number here. The grounds are beautifufl and healing. I know that Jessica went over and beyond to help us with our mom with wisdom and care for our personal situation. I do not recommend this facility, especially if your loved one cannot fend for themselves. When they came to the hospital to assess my husband, I was completely up front when them about issues my husband was having after being in one hospital for 3 weeks and another hospital for 3 weeks for rehab . They assured me they could care for my husband. They were also extremely anxious to get my check . After going over there both day and night I realized they were not caring for my husband . I stayed overnight sometimes and also had a camera in his room which documented a lot . I would highly recommend putting in a camera if you place a loved one there. I lined up physical therapists and occupational therapists while my husband was there. One of the therapists arrived at 10:30 one morning to work with my husband and she said he was calling out, was still in the bed and wet . My husband is now up and walking, going to the toilet and putting back on some weight he lost while there. Also, the camera was installed by one of the staff who had concerns for my husband as well. I have left out a lot of details, but have shared them with friends and family and talked with the owner . The facility is a personal care home and does not have memory care . Several times when I stayed overnight, one resident came into my husband's room and was headed for his bed when I stopped her and had to hunt a staff member to take her back to her room. I have a couple of sitters who come to my home now and the fear and anxiety my husband had is gone. I w would never recommend The Overlook to anyone unless they are perfectly able to fend for themselves and need little or no assistance.

My 102 year old mom is well taken care of at the Overlook, and brags to me how sweet the staff are to her . She will soon be a resident for a year, and has no complaints with the service. I have a lot of experience with senior living facilities and this is one I recommend without reservation. Great place’

My dad lived at The Overlook Monroe for 2½ months last year and we loved the people who cared for him, the residents and the facility. I would definitely recommend it. Not so huge so it is less intimidating to a new resident. Unfortunately my father passed away right after Thanksgiving. Their support and actions taken when he needed to get to the hospital quickly were excellent.
