Our Lady of the Valley

We are so thankful that we moved our mother to Our Lady of the Valley. From the very first moment she arrived, her care team provided excellent care and concern. Most impressive was the coordination of care providers and the kindness of interactions with our mother and our family. Our mother felt respected and loved. She was certain to tell us that she was their favorite resident. Our Lady of the Valley is clean, has an ample menu and a beautiful outdoor area for residents and families to enjoy.

Our family is so grateful to our lady of the valley for the exceptional care they provided to our mother. From the moment she moved in, the staff treated her with kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion. It gave our family, tremendous peace of mind knowing she was safe, supported and surrounded by people who truly cared about her.

Don’t let the exterior fool you. You can paint crap in gold but it’s still crap. This so called nonprofit charges outrageous amounts and fees for everything. Because they wear a brief at night they get charged for that.??? When you try to talk to someone about what’s going on you can’t get a straight answer. If you want to know what’s really going on just talk to the Cnas…. The unit manager quit, the DON put her notice in too and hasn’t been back, the ADON, is never here cause they say she is in school and when she is actually in the building she hides in her office, the other unit manager is still too new to know what’s going on, So where is the money going if it’s not going to reliable staff to care for my family? Or better yet why the turnover in the last 3 years?

I would rate a zero if I could. Dear friend of mine admitted there after a stroke. Was able to communicate prior to this admission. After 4veeeks, he could no longer communicate, had no oral care, no PT, and his body reeked of filth. I wouldn't send my dog to this facility, it's disgraceful

I left Carilion intensive rehab, care and they sent me to our Lady Of The Valley for rehab. I could say without a doubt it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a rehab facility. The management managers by intimidation to their help. They are understaffed, but the staff they do have is very good when it comes to see CMA I think it’s called and the nurses that a minister, the meds our first class. The people that you need to be aware of is the head RN Mary The social worker Cherokee is absolutely one of the worst social workers I’ve ever worked with in this industry. The head nurse that works under Mary Lisa is not a good person at all. Any administrator has no clue and Amy that is over. The Physical Therapy seems to be a puppet under the management at this establishment. I witnessed the lack of help on the 3 to 11 shift and the 11 to 7 shift the Cna’s have had as many as 20+ rooms to care for by the end of the shift they look like they have aged five years I am so disappointed in this facility that takes care of the elderly, and those who are trying to get better they are rated a three star on staffing. I would give them at the most a two star on staffing. All I would say is families beware and if you’re not able to watch over your family member on a daily basis, I would not recommend this place whatsoever Do not be impressed too much by the maintenance on the outside of this facility as well as the inside because the rooms are very nice. The dining room is nice. The food was really good when I started, but I believe they’ve let some people go and the food has gone downhill.
