Honest approach to upper scale retirement living facility. The rooms are quiet and capacious.The brunch was high end cookery by a very skilled and personable chef. I spoke with 5 tenants at random, and all were fulsome in their appreciation of their living situation. One couple shared that they had started at the faculty with their spouses who had subsequently passed. Obviously conducive to inclusivity by seeing meeting nooks on several floors and an extensive event calendar. Overall, with the 24 hr attendance and enclosed parking garage, this is my top pick for this area.

DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY HERE AS OF 2026. Their facilities have deteriorated and staff members have repeatedly misleading, evasive, and downright lied. My most recent conversation included them stating there are “too many projects and not enough money for maintenance” when I spoke with them on a recorded line. And they are suppose to be responsible for the vulnerable population?? Edit to reply: 2/24/2026 - your blanket response is disingenuous and untruthful as yet another action of poor ethics by oakmont and connected parties. This has been brought to the attention of numerous employees including the director - Sean, Maintenance manager Mason, front desk associate Carrie and various employees at the corporate office located in Irvine. This had been reported as a violation to the city of San Diego and confirmation of this violation was done by Sean on a recorded phone call. Hundreds of documented contacts have been made to Oakmont in regards to this singular issue. It continues to be ignored and neglected, which is my assumption they provide their tenants - POOR, EVASIVE, AND UNTRUTHFUL. I’m Reaffirming due to their fraudulent reply - AVOID AT ALL COST!

I love this facility! The staff is amazing and takes great care of not only my grandpa but every single person there. You can just feel safe knowing that they are in great hands once they step inside :)

There are 2 locations I cannot speak for this one but the one closest to the library is understaffed and some residents are abused and not handled properly the owner continues to cut staff to maximize on profits sometimes only 1 caregiver is around for the main floor and the same follows with another wing. Lastly for the most serious cases they're not being rehabilitated activities are made for doddlers they never go outside and are told no
