Property is so pristine and peaceful, a small oasis tucked away. The staff are so kind and accommodating. Definitely a place to consider for those twilight years.

I'm currently here at Oakland Heights. The rehab people are top notch and are compassionate and excellent at their jobs. The CNAs have been caring as well. They ask about how I'm doing and scold me if I'm not eating. The real issue comes during the night. There are not enough people to service this place. I have gotten the story that they have enough people mandated by the state. Well, that's not enough. Right now, as I write this, I have been waiting 45 minutes after pressing my call button. That's reprehensible and dangerous. It is 5:33 in the morning. I pressed the button at 4:45. I reset the button and pressed it again, hoping to get someone's attention, but no luck. While I'm fortunate that my needs do not rise to an emergency level, I shudder to imagine that future. This is not the first time that this has happened. I brought my concerns to a manager, who told me the line about having the mandated amount. That time, I was waiting for pain medication, which took about twenty minutes to answer my call. I could not recommend this place in good conscience to someone who is not fully mobile. The risk is not worth it. Daytime, I would give this place four stars, after hours, clearly zero. I'm finishing this at 5:40 and no one has come by to check on me.

The people at OAK Heights treated & cared for me so well. Special mention re Julius, Elizabeth, Cindy, Kopela, Judy, Anson , Marsha, Jackie, Arsenio, Allya, Selene, Peony, Dee, Nick & the list goes on. I’m coming back just to see these people again (just a visit). If I have to rehab again, this is the place I’ll request. Kudos to OAK Heights! Deborrah Ryan

Oakland Heights Senior Living Was a Lifesaver for My Family When my father’s caregiver was suddenly hospitalized, I had to find immediate care for him. He’s in the middle stages of dementia and couldn’t be left alone. I was referred to Best Life Ever, who connected me to Oakland Heights in Oakland, CA—and from that point on, I felt supported. Amy, the intake coordinator, was compassionate and responsive. Incredibly, she helped place my father within 48 hours. The first night was tough, but Uma and the care team got him through it with patience and empathy. By day two, my father had settled in and even told me he liked the facility—a huge relief. Though his stay was just six days of respite care, the peace of mind it gave me was priceless. I also appreciated the kindness and professionalism of the facility director, who stayed engaged throughout the process. I wholeheartedly recommend Oakland Heights to anyone seeking short- or long-term care for a loved one. Their team truly cares.

Some of the CNAs were great, but the doctor gave my dad the wrong medication so he had serotonin syndrome, had to go to the ER, and he was not able to talk to us anymore until his death a month later. Also very little light despite being in a nice complex
