We’re so grateful to have found Oak Hill Assisted Living! After coming from another facility in Fuquay that just wasn’t the right fit, we were uneasy about moving again — but wow, what a difference! From the very first day, everything was better. On arrival, my father’s room was freshly painted, fully renovated, and beautifully furnished. The staff even brought a commercial-grade utility cart to help us move in. You can tell the team here really enjoys and takes pride in what they do — they’re genuinely kind, upbeat, and treat residents with respect and dignity. Since the move, I’ve visited at all times of the day and night, weekdays and weekends — and the place is always clean, welcoming, and full of life. Other families I’ve met here say the same thing, their loved ones are happy and thriving, even after years of being part of the Oak Hill community. Based on personal interactions, we’ve seen the team go out of their way to ensure residents feel comfortable, safe and cared for in their new surroundings. A remarkable testament to the exceptional standards set by the Oak Hill Management team and a true reflection of their overall commitment to service and excellence. This “hidden gem” was absolutely the right choice and has truly been a blessing for our family. If you’re looking for a warm, kind, vibrant place for your loved one, stop in for a visit and see for yourself. I can’t recommend them enough!

Please be cautious. Rebecca was a pleasure to work with and was kind and helpful throughout the initial process. However, our experience with management was very disappointing. After completing the evaluation and paying the $5,000 community fee, our family decided not to move forward with Oak Hill. We had not signed any contracts or paperwork, and no services had been provided. Despite this, management stated the fee was nonrefundable and declined to issue any refund. This was extremely disappointing and concerning. Families making decisions about assisted living are often under emotional and financial stress, and transparency is incredibly important. I hope the community will reconsider how these situations are handled in the future.
Response from the owner
Thank you for your kind words about Rebecca. We are glad your experience with her was positive. We are sorry to hear that you ultimately chose not to move forward and that you left feeling disappointed. The Community Fee is a non-refundable, one-time administrative and reservation fee assessed prior to admission. It is not a payment for residency and is not contingent upon moving in. The non-refundable nature of the fee was disclosed repeatedly before Oak Hill accepted payment, including during tours, during the assessment process, in written admissions materials, on our website, on the pricing sheet, and again prior to payment. Upon receipt of the Community Fee, the room was reserved and held, and administrative and admissions preparation work was initiated in anticipation of move-in. While we respect every family’s decision, this policy is applied consistently to ensure fairness to all prospective residents. We wish you and your family the very best moving forward.

It's really hard to find a good and safe assisted living facility. I looked up facilities on the NC DHSR site to try to find ones with fewer than average violations, then called around based on that. Our family felt so lucky to find Oak Hill. The quality of care was excellent - the staff were all kind to my dad, patient, and connected with him warmly as a person. Their communication with me as a family member was exemplary - super professional and empathetic - they kept me up to date on any needs and made me feel like it was always ok to reach out. On top of all this, it was more affordable than other options, especially with a shared room (which turned out to be a nicer option for my dad anyway - he liked having a roommate). Oak Hill also coordinated care well with me around doctor's visits and ultimately hospice. I have enormous respect and admiration for the staff. I'm glad he was able to live his last year in such a nice place where he liked the people and the food and felt taken care of. The staff was also super compassionate, fair and helpful in terms of how they handled my dad's passing and the logistics of clearing out his room. At a time that I feared there'd be nowhere nice that we could afford, our experience with Oak Hill was a true blessing.

From my experience, I can say that it's extremely difficult to find assisted living that can meet the personal expectations we all have when care is needed for a loved one. Nothing can replace home, but I believe Oak Hill is the next best thing! Oak Hill not only met my expectations, they EXCEEDED them! From the initial phone call to the tour of the facility, admission day, and each day forward, this place has gone above and beyond! My mother was well taken care of in every way possible. Rebecca (in admissions) was there for me and my family every time I needed her. The entire staff was phenomenal! Every concern that I ever had was promptly addressed (shout out to Alex)! Staff here has felt more like family than anything else. The facility is extremely clean and well maintained. My brother, a chef with over 20 years of experience in healthcare food services, stated that the food selection and quality doesn't get better than Oak Hill. I think that's saying a lot. If you are in need of assisted living, there is no need to look any further than Oak Hill.
