New Perspective - Weldon Spring

We toured New Perspective in Weldon Spring and were absolutely blown away. From the moment you walk in, it feels warm, welcoming, and like HOME - not a facility. The staff is incredible, so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. You can tell they love what they do. The community is beautiful - spotless, bright, and so thoughtfully designed. The apartments are lovely and the common areas make you want to stay and visit. If you are looking for a place for your loved one where they will be safe, loved, and truly cared for, look no further.

I recently toured this independent living community and was absolutely impressed! The staff and residents were incredibly welcoming, and the community felt warm, friendly, and full of life. The apartments, amenities, and beautiful surroundings made me feel right at home. One of the best parts is that my dog can come with me, which means the world to me. After seeing everything firsthand, I am even more excited about this next chapter and cannot wait to move in with my dog and become part of such a wonderful community. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and vibrant place to call home!

After 40 years in my own house, I honestly didn't think anywhere else could feel like home. Then I moved to New Perspective in Weldon Spring. I was so nervous about moving to assisted living. My daughter and I looked at a few places around Weldon Spring, O'Fallon, and St. Charles, but this one just felt different the second I walked in. Warm. Calm. Like people actually wanted me here. And they did. The other residents took me right in. I've already made such sweet friends - we have our morning coffee together, we do the activities, we just sit and talk and laugh. I don't feel alone anymore. The staff here... I can't say enough about them. They are so kind and caring, and they check on you like family. They helped make my little apartment so cozy and comfortable. If your family is starting to look at senior living or memory care around Weldon Spring or O'Fallon, please go tour New Perspective. It gave me my happiness back. I feel blessed to be here.

Don't let the beautiful building fool you. That's exactly why we chose this memory care community for our mom in November 2024. It is a beautiful facility with plenty of common areas to spend time with your loved one, but unfortunately, the quality of care did not match the appearance or promises made by their leadership team. When our mom moved in, she was vibrant, social, and able to do most things independently. Over the next 16 months, we watched a heartbreaking decline that we believe was accelerated by a lack of consistent care. Friends and family who visited regularly couldn't believe how much she had changed. After only one month after my mom moved in, we felt we had no choice but to install cameras in our mom's room because we had lost confidence in the care she was receiving. Our family was there every single day—sometimes multiple times a day—to make sure she was safe and receiving basic care. No family should have to do that while paying for memory care. Throughout her stay, we experienced multiple medication errors, repeated requests for medical tests that were never completed, multiple urinary tract infections, skin breakdown, and wounds that often went without appropriate follow-up. We frequently found our mom, and many other residents, sitting in soaked clothing from not being toileted. The staffing turnover was constant. Many wonderful caregivers left because of poor leadership and management. Activity coordinators came and went, and when one was hired, activities were inconsistent and often not appropriate for residents living with dementia. The Loop system they brag about was rarely operational, or the team members told us they didn't know how to use it. Incompetent, unqualified, and ignorant leaders remained in their positions and were allowed to hire even more unqualified team members. There were multiple state visits during our mom's stay. At one point, some residents went more than a week without hot water. We repeatedly brought concerns to facility leadership, but many issues were ignored or only temporarily addressed. Too often, we had to escalate concerns to regional leadership, and even then, promises were frequently broken. It took repeated complaints, calls to the state, and major incidents before meaningful attention was given. And even then, after a confirmed medication error where 8+ days of meds were not administered, their Regional Head of Operations admitted to not wanting to put a loved one in a new community because of the issues with staffing, team morale, lack of processes, etc. We did everything we could to avoid moving her as relocating someone with dementia can be devastating. We kept hoping improvements would be made and we made sure we were there daily. Sadly, after 16 months, our mom suffered a fall that we believe was preventable. Her walker was not accessible, and she was allowed to walk to the bathroom wearing slippery socks. She fell, was sent to the emergency room, and never recovered properly. She passed away less than two months later. I rarely write negative reviews, but families considering New Perspective deserve to know about our experience. There were caring staff members who truly loved the residents, but they were too often unsupported by leadership and overwhelmed by systemic problems. If you're considering this facility for someone you love, I encourage you to look beyond the beautiful building and ask the difficult questions about staffing, processes, leadership, consistency of care, and accountability. Those things matter far more than appearances.

Everything is so beautiful there and brand new! Such a loving community and & I love that they keep couples together under the same roof! They have so many fun events too, I went to an Elvis tribute concert & all of the residents and visitors had a blast!
