They took terrible care of my Grandmother. She had a horrible end of life experience and their own staff told me they could see her spinal column from bed rot. I’ve had nightmares about this for years.

Staff was extraordinarily unpleasant, standoffish, and absolute in their brazenness. They lack foundational basics for a business of this type; decorum, empathy, and any sense of responsibility for their own decisions. I wouldn’t touch this facility or trust them with my loved ones.

Paul, we believe your review was prompted by a concert recently held. Perhaps you were an audience member? The event was intended to be an opportunity for young musicians to perform for our residents, something we thoroughly enjoy hosting. However, when 60 unexpected guests came at the invitation of the music teacher, our dining venue quickly overflowed, residents were unable to find seating. The resulting hubbub proved disruptive for our residents. We apologize if the actions of our team were seen as anything other than concern and deference to our seniors. Regrettably, this was one of those times where communication and expectations were misaligned.

I cannot speak highly enough of the all the staff: nurses, recreational personnel, administrators, caregivers, and kitchen crew, literally everyone at MorningStar! They carried my mother-in-law through a difficult stroke recovery. She made friends quickly with residents and employees alike. The relationships, activities, Bible study, and caring community all contributed to her recovery. I wish there was a MorningStar home in New York! Please consider opening a MorningStar on Long Island; we need you!
