Why would you bring your loved ones here? They have high staff turnover and charges the residents so much $$$ for poor quality care. They have new management all the time. The staff are rude. Some are decent not all but majority. They are paying home care agencies to work the floor because they can’t keep people. It’s not worth it. Your loved ones here are not safe.

Response from the owner

Mary, your words are painful to read, and we regret that your work experience at MorningStar left you with such negative opinions. We acknowledge that team changes have occurred in our Billings community upon identifying areas of opportunity to better serve our residents. With high aspirations comes the necessity for change on occasion. We remain rooted in our first principles, squarely centered on a mission that calls us to serve with excellence and love with sincerity. We wish you well in finding a workplace more suitable to your priorities.

They don't seem to understand dementia. All the materials I've read about them compared to what I've seen is totally different. If your loved one is still active don't send them here. Everything she has done is normal for dementia and they keep sending our loved one to the ER for evaluation. What she has dementia that is her diagnosis. Plus if you talk to staff they seem to rarely the message. She sits in her room all day, they don't get her out for walks or encourage her to get up. It breaks my heart. Today she was out more and happy though!

Response from the owner

Trisha, your words cut deeply. While we sincerely apologize for falling short of your expectations, we have been fully invested in the care of your sister-in-law. Resident privacy prevents us from referencing the particulars of this situation, but we would never send a resident to the ER without reasonable cause, supported by our rounding physician. We have stayed in close communication with your husband throughout changing health conditions. As attested by countless families, MorningStar offers residents in Reflections the highest quality of care by a compassionate team of certified care professionals. Please continue to reach out to our Executive Director to resolve any continuing concerns.

They probably need younger receptionist who are willing to do their job. I deliver groceries and my instructions were to “leave the groceries with the receptionist in a cart “ . The receptionist instructed me to deliver the groceries to the resident in the building and I’m pretty sure it’s her job and not mine. I don’t mean to Complain, but it’s not my business to be inside of a nursing home doing tasks that aren’t mine . I imagine she skips other tasks if she didn’t want to deliver groceries in an elevator on a cart…… It was literally tissue and candies…

Response from the owner

Lisa, we regret the poor impression that led to this review. To explain the rhythms and protocols of our community better: We always ask businesses, when possible, to make deliveries right to our residents’ doors, especially in Independent Living which was the situation here. Concierges are very busy throughout the day, and do not have the ability to leave the front desk every time a delivery comes in. The same is true in other senior communities, hotels and hospitals. We do have a short period in the afternoon and evening where our team is able to deliver packages but residents should not have to wait until then when they’ve paid for items to be brought in a timely manner. I hope this sheds some extra light.

I chose MorningStar for my son, who is recovering from a stroke, after personally touring six Assisted Living sites in Billings plus researching 2 or 3 more. My decision to put him in MorningStar was the right one. When we arrived late on a Saturday afternoon, the staff was ready for him and took care to get him and his stuff into his room in such a way that my friend was impressed and said, "These folks practice Christianity as few Christians do." My son has had nothing but good things to say about the staff, from the caregivers who respond to his requests, to the servers in the dining room and the administrative staff. My feelings are the same. We had a slight disagreement which was resolved in my favor with such grace that I was shocked, as far too often such issues are never settled amicably. The facility is first class and is both clean and well maintained. The food service is also above average with a varied menu that tries to provide both "comfort" food and more adventurous items. I eat a meal with my son every day I can so I speak with some experience. If my future needs require me to move to a Senior community, it will be MorningsStar. It's rare for my expectations for anything are exceeded. In this case they were.

Response from the owner

Edward, thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that MorningStar has exceeded your expectations and that your son is receiving such attentive care. Our team is dedicated to providing a comfortable and supportive environment, and your kind words truly inspire us. We appreciate your trust in us and are honored to serve you and your son.
