McDowell Place of Danville is truly amazing. Jessica helped us tremendously while navigating my dad’s move from out of state, making what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and reassuring. From the moment you walk in, Mary and Lisa greet you with such warmth and friendliness that it immediately feels like home—not just a facility. That welcoming atmosphere makes a huge difference when you’re entrusting the care of a loved one to others. The food is outstanding, and the dining accommodations feel more like those of a resort hotel than a senior living community. In fact, the entire place has the feel of a five-star resort. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, the interior is tastefully decorated, and the amenities are incredible—a library, salon, movie theater, and yes… even candy and popcorn! Calla in the salon is caring, professional, and effortlessly polished in her craft. Brandon is exceptional as well. He clearly takes pride in his work and always puts the residents first. His dedication and passion for serving others truly show. Nurse Sarah is truly exceptional. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that every resident receives the highest quality of care. Her dedication, compassion, and attention to detail are evident in everything she does, and her genuine passion for her work shines through in the way she supports and advocates for the residents each day. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully designed for safety and comfort, and filled with natural light. After my wife finished staging my dad’s apartment, I joked that I’d happily live there myself. Most importantly, it’s incredibly comforting to know that my dad, at 90 years old, is living his best life and receiving excellent care 24/7. He absolutely loves it here. Thank you to Jessica, Brandon, Mary, Lisa, Calla, Sarah, and the entire staff who make McDowell Place of Danville what it is. You are the heart and face of this community, and you’ve truly created a place that feels like home. In our opinion, it’s the best in Kentucky.

This place is a joke. 6k a month for a loved one to live here and if the family doesn’t clean their room, it doesn’t get done. The housekeeper who has been employed there for 20 years is pretty much nonexistent. The cleaning cart gets parked on the hall every morning and sits in the same spot for eight hours, while the housekeeper sits in the break room on her phone. The administrator is aware of this and allows it to happen. The administrator is also nonexistent after having a family member there for several years, I laid eyes on her, maybe two times. The employees are incompetent. Most of them are not certified, which you don’t have to be in assisted living , However, they lack common sense. Honestly I don’t know how they passed their state survey. My mother went without a scheduled medication for over two months without the nursing staff intervening, I wasn’t aware until the pharmacy called me themselves. Please don’t place a family member here!
