Candy, We’re very sorry to see these comments. The things you’re describing certainly don’t accurately describe our facility or staff. During your time with Mayberry Manor activities were offered twice per day (AM and PM), seven days per week. There were approximately 140 activities during this period, in which you rarely chose to participate. It is a resident’s right to choose to not participate, and we can’t force someone to join an activity if they choose not too. Our staff have worked very hard to keep our residents engaged during the past year, especially with the unique challenges posed by Covid. Regarding our meals, it is one of the areas where we are complimented the most. While you may not have enjoyed the meals, you were asked on multiple occasions how your dining experience could be improved and only offered a suggestion once. Due to our small size we pride ourselves on being flexible in how we prepare meals for our residents. And regarding staff interaction, we have a wonderful staff at Mayberry that care deeply for our residents. Like the daily activities, our staff regularly tried to invite you to talk and spend one on one time together but you declined. We’re proud of the care that we provide to our residents at Mayberry Manor. We realize that assisted living isn’t a one size fits all approach, and we clearly weren’t the right fit for you. We wish you the best of luck in finding a care setting that works for you.

The facility and the setting is nice, the staff is generally nice as well. The management and enforcement lacks severely. My sister is supposed to be walking around the facility for exercise and practice 3 times a day and it's rare that she walks at all, they always say she refuses, but I check with her and she says they dont offer. So she sits in a chair at the table all day long. Then she gets left on the toilet a lot, because the call light system doesn't work half of the time, she then crawls to her bed. Just this week her ankle braces can not be found anywhere which she had fitted for her therapy. Thus weekend she had to wait over an hour to be given tylenol, because the CNA said wait until I do the meds. This is just the the last week of the hell it's been to be here. To be fair they only staff one worker for eight people and they pay low from what I've heard. If you are looking keep looking.

Josh, I’m sorry to hear about your concerns, but I hope I can address them. Every effort is made to fully engage our residents daily in physical activities and therapy. Unfortunately, if a resident does not want to participate we can’t force them to; its their right to choose. The call buttons in our facility are regularly inspected, and our staff stay near residents who need assistance while using the restrooms so that no one is left unattended. Regarding medications, Mayberry Manor uses a state of the art medication management system. Each resident follows a medication routine which is developed with their doctor and care team. We are required to follow a schedule for when to give medications to residents and at certain times, to ensure the health and safety of our residents. Mayberry Manor is staffed 24/7 by a caring and dedicated team. During waking hours our facility has up to 4 staff present, including a Caregiver/CNA, Registered Nurse, Supervisor, and a State Licensed Administrator. A Supervisor is on call at all times when management is not on site. Mayberry Manor is also dedicated to providing a competitive wage for our staff, and pays one of the highest wages of any local assisted living, as well as regular raises. I hope this has helped to address some of your concerns. Someone from Mayberry will be reaching out to you to address any other concerns or questions that you might have.
