After multiple trips to the hospital for illness in one year we finally decided My Dad (John Walz) needed some extra care to go about his daily life. We looked everywhere and we decided that the Prestige was the place for him. It is a very clean, comfortable place with an Awesome staff that took great care of my Dad. His Favorite caregiver was Carolyn who made sure on a daily bases that my Dad had what he needed. She even made his Coffee every morning. She made sure he was up in time to eat as well as getting him going so he can make it to the Poker game. I am forever grateful to Carolyn for all she did. The Management was awesome, Deana was the best. She liked to give my Dad a hard time. Dad's thought was if you don't give him a hard time you must be mad at him. Even on the Bad days the staff at Prestige treated my Dad with Respect. He truly felt like he was part of a family. In the beginning Dad would fuss about being there and even complained about the food. Trust me there is nothing wrong with the food and you don't gain 80 pounds on bad food. He truly looked forward to all meals. Dad was able to come and go as he pleased. He would often venture out to the local grocery store to buy snacks and could be found on the bus when there were trips to Wal-Mart. If you are looking for a great place for Assisted living you will not find a better place in Yuba or Sutter County. Thank you all at the Prestige for taking such great care of my Dad, Forever grateful Jim Walz

I am the son of a former resident of the Expressions memory Care Unit at Prestige assisted living. My mother Louise Borr was diagnosed with Dementia in January of 2015. She voluntarily checked herself into the facility. After visiting the facility I was particularly impressed with the dignity & respect that they showed Louise during the course of her illness. They encouraged her to leave her unit to be social by playing bingo, eating snacks and dinner, going on short fieldtrips away from the facility They even coached me as to how to talk to my mother when she was cycling down, in a panic, and needed to be with me. Sherri Banford told me to be calm, and reassure her that I was ok, Louise was Ok, and that she was in the right place with people who can give her the best care possible. Sadly my mother’s illness progressed to the point where her phone had to be disconnected. Family members don’t have to worry. All you have to do is call the unit phone number and Sherri, Cameron or whoever is on duty will gladly bring the portable phone to the resident. When my mother started loosing her battle with Dimencia, Sherri kept me informed of her behavior, so I could make the painful decision to place her on Hospice. I found this particularly comforting because I live in Oakland CA, and the staff showed me the respect to allow me to make the decision. Sadly she passed away on April 20, 2015. My advice to anyone with a family member who is suffering from Alzheimer or Dementia, is to strongly consider having them stay at Prestige. You won’t regret it. Blaise Borr
