Some months ago I was in a time crunch to find a long term facility for my brother after a harrowing hospitalization. A visit to Maplewood at Strawberry Hill proved to be a surprising experience. The facility and orientation was beyond amazing. The staff are wonderful....literally every person is caring, dedicated, and supportive. After years of my brother's failing health and dementia, I was extremely grateful to have found a place that exceeded my expectations. The professional attention helped my brother to make a remarkable adjustment. I am extremely grateful for the care he is receiving.

It’s a warm, caring and welcoming community, one that my father joined two years ago with the anticipation of living there for many years and the sad reality was a much shorter tenure than imagined. It’s such a strong community that after his passing, I couldn’t imagine not remaining a part of it - I travel from another state to volunteer there monthly. My dad was in the rare position of being able to decide for himself to move to Maplewood and as a brutally honest person, shared the same thought with everyone “if I can’t live at home, this is the greatest place to live”. And he meant it. Having been a caregiver himself for 10 years to my sick mom, he knew what stellar care looked like and he saw it daily at Maplewood. Each associate (staff) member - nurse, aide, dining room, activities, leadership members and maintenance crew treated my father with respect, concern and humor. He never felt as though he was anything other than a member of a community. If your loved one needs a stable and safe environment, many places can offer that. But what sets Maplewood apart from the others Is that their community becomes your family.
