Very Disappointed With Our Experience at Lyndale Senior Living in San Angelo I am sharing our experience so that other families can make an informed decision when considering Lyndale Senior Living for their loved ones. Around March 25, 2026 my parents moved into Lyndale. Around April 8, 2026 parents admitted in Shannon Rehab Hospital. On April 13, 2026, I spoke with the Director of Lyndale and was advised that we would need documentation from my parents’ doctor stating that they required additional care to avoid additional charges. On April 14, I met with my parents’ doctor at Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital. The doctor agreed that both of my parents required additional care and recommended that they be transferred to a nursing home. On April 15, the doctor provided a letter documenting this recommendation. Because the Director was out of the office on personnel leave, the letter was provided to Lyndale staff. On April 17, my parents were discharged from Shannon Rehabilitation Hospital and admitted to a nursing home. That same day, the majority of their belongings were removed from Lyndale. I spoke with the Director, who told me that no additional charges would be processed as long as the remaining belongings were removed by May 1. Sadly, my father passed away on April 24. On April 27, we removed the remaining belongings from Lyndale and returned the keys to the Director. A friend who was helping us move and I were both present in the office. We were again reassured that there would be no additional payments. Despite those assurances, Lyndale processed two payments on May 6, 2026, for $6,105.65 and $593.75. I made repeated attempts to contact the Director. Initially, I was assured that the matter would be taken care of and that the charges were a mistake. Unfortunately, the Director subsequently stopped returning my calls. On May 26, I texted the Director requesting an update. She responded that she had some information and was waiting for a printout before explaining the details. Despite this, I never received a clear explanation or resolution. As of August 7, 2026, we have received a refund of $4,030.86. This still leaves $2,074.79 of the $6,105.65 charge unresolved. We have yet to receive a clear explanation for why this amount was charged or why it has not been refunded. What has been especially disappointing is the lack of communication and follow-through. We are dealing with the loss of my father while also having to repeatedly pursue a financial matter that we were told would be corrected. I originally believed our family was in good hands at Lyndale. The Director and her husband had even been guests at our church, so we entered this relationship with a high level of trust. Unfortunately, our experience during an already extremely difficult time has left us deeply disappointed. My purpose in posting this is not to create conflict, but to make other families aware of our experience. If you are considering Lyndale for a parent or loved one, I strongly encourage you to carefully review the contract, understand the billing and discharge policies, and get any promises or agreements regarding charges in writing. We would still like a clear accounting of the charges and payment of the remaining $2,074.79 that we believe is owed to my parents.
