My MIL moved here to assisted living from CMH. We had a very difficult time getting the care she needed at the level she needed, even though we paid for the highest tier. We then moved her to memory care and this was about the time the new director came on. He has made some positive changes in the past two months by hiring more caregivers and making sure protocol is followed. A month ago this review would have been quite dismal, but I’m happy to see improvements being made with new leadership in place.

The team here is extremely helpful and caring. You can truly feel that they care for the residents and the staff. I believe they are one the best options for senior living in Ventura.

The Lexington is a wonderful community with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is kind, and there’s a real sense of care and comfort throughout the building. It’s clear they work hard to make it a great place for residents.

Although the caregivers and support staff here are wonderful people, the management side is not as good. My mother has lived here for over 5 years. A year ago, management increased my mother’s rates by 15%, attributing it to cost increases. When I reached out to them, they explained what was going on. No one had been managing the monthly rate tables for residents who lived at Lexington Assisted Living, so they decided to catch up on what should have been small annual rate increases over the prior 4 years all at once. That was a very large monthly increase for us to have to deal with and was quite an unpleasant shock. This year, only 1 year later, they increased her rates again by over 11% with no warning or explanation whatsoever. They haven’t responded to my telephone call or email of a couple weeks ago, either. That’s not good management, good style, or good manners, but I don’t think it’s intentional. It’s probably difficult to have enough management staff on hand to take care of everything. In the 5+ years my mother has been here, there has been regular turnover on the management side.
