My husband resided at Legend of Broomfield for over a year. The facility was nice and the care was adequate. My husband was placed in hospice. During that time, I started taking some of his belonging’s home with me each day. He passed on a Friday afternoon. My Saturday was spent in a grieving fog trying to prioritize some of the next steps. Early Sunday morning I went to the facility and packed up the remainder of his belongings. His room was emptied of all his personal effects by 10AM that Sunday morning. I asked the staff if there was someone available to check me out of the room. They said no. Monday morning I called to see if the checkout process was on the schedule. I was told that they were in the room at that moment. That Thursday I received a bill. No billing for care, but a bill for 2.42 days of room charge. Seriously!!! I was appalled and felt that I had just been slapped on my way out the door to bury my husband. There was no compassion grace period after the passing of my husband. The room billing clock never stops but the compassion certainly did! Warning to all. If you are seeking an assisted living facility, etc, check the contract for any kind of grace period on the room charge should your loved one pass while at the facility. His belongings were in the room for 10 hours on Sunday of the 2.42 days billed!! However, since the facility is not compelled to grant authority to anyone to do a room checkout on a weekend, that room charge becomes automatic money in their pocket. I paid the bill with loud protest. That day the acting administrator said she would review the situation. I have heard nothing from her. I logged in to the portal to make sure my payment was reflected. The payment had posted and a credit was showing on my account of over $200. The facility can’t even get their bill in agreement with the portal bill. This is such a sad situation for such a small amount of money. Even sadder because any positive opinion I may have had for the facility was erased by their behavior and indifference after his passing.

Our mom lived at Legend of Broomfield for 2 1/2 years in both assisted living (AL) and memory care (MC). It is a beautiful facility with very caring staff that helped us navigate the transition from home to AL and then AL to MC. We are so appreciative we had the community of Legend to help care for Mom when we couldn't. We visited often and were able to see just how much they did, and cared, for the residents. We would like to acknowledge the entire Reflections care team for their attentive care! What an awesome group. We would like to especially thank Susie and Maria for going above and beyond - you are truly angels among us. We appreciate the loving care from Carol and Elizabeth. We are grateful to Michelle for getting Mom involved, to Chris for always making sure she was comfortable, to Mark for his gentle bedside manner and to Lorraine for making Mom's room sparkly clean! Natasha has a big heart and was a great help! Thank you Malissa for all the guidance you provided from beginning to end. We appreciate you all (forgot to mention someone I'm sure) and we wish you all the best in the future!
