Truewood by Merrill, Keller

Shakemma R. Kime is the Activity Director here in the memory department at Truewood at Keller. She is 100% authentic and present with her residents. She is super present. Residents love her, she paints their nails, gives haircuts to all who are given permission, curls and styles... most of all boy she will bust a move with or all them at the same time. She challenges them with cognitive games, and they don't ever even realize they are working because she always makes it fun for them . To top it off, she starts off each holiday or time of year with Memory Care decorated beyond what you can imagine. The residents wake up with eyes wide open and are beyond excited--- okay not only the residents but families and look forward to all decorations!!! If you can't tell , I can't say enough good things about Kime- she's one of a kind and definitely well loved!!!!

We have just wrapped up our first year at Truewood and I have to say it has been a big improvement from the last place! From Day 1 it felt like the right fit for my mother. At 88 years old she has a lot of challenges but the teamwork amongst the staff has made it easier for both of us. They are great to work with and some of them have already been down this road with their own parents so there's a noticeable level of empathy and understanding of the challenges that go with the care of our loved ones. The other thing that really stands out is the residents themselves. I have gotten to know and care about many of them, it's a great bunch of people and a great environment of love, support and caring!

We moved my mom in a couple of months ago to Truewood & it has been everything we could have hoped for. My mom is enjoying it & is being loved on and cared for everyday. The staff truly goes out of their way to make the residents feel at ease. We are so grateful to have found a place for her.

Moving my 94 year old step-mother into Truewood, 3 months ago, couldn't have gone any better. The facility and entire staff have been outstanding! As a result, we recently moved my 92 year old mother-in-law in as well! They are both enjoying the carefree lifestyle at Truewood.
