Laurel Heights

It's a beautiful place and it's a great facility. Their staff is amazing. They have movies, field trips, tours. Food is excellent. They have beautiful and brand new rooms. I would move there if I was the right age. I would recommend this to my family and friends. It's beautiful, l and the staff is amazing.

Laurel Heights is an excellent program for those loved ones who need extra care in life. I am astounded at the loving care they have provided for my dear Grandmother. The staff here are extremely attentive and kind they go out of their way to make sure the people living here are well taken care of. Thank you

About a year ago, after my mom’s husband of over 50 years passed away, I decided to move her down to Southern California near where I reside. With 2 granddaughters living in nearby Moorpark, somewhere in the Conejo Valley seemed perfect. However, after several exhausting visits of other assisted living homes, Laurel Heights was far and away the best facility in the area. Jill Waters, Laurel Height’s very knowledgeable marketing director, escorted me on a tour of the gorgeous grounds, the wonderfully appointed apartments, and introduced me to the most friendly staff of people who obviously enjoyed working there. I saw right away that the employees of Laurel Heights genuinely cared about the people living there. Ms. Waters was incredibly professional and made me feel extremely comfortable. Without “pushing”, she guided me through the different kinds of care available, the very competitive pricing structures, as well as the many weekly activities that are offered to the residents. And that’s not to mention a tasting of the very delicious food that is freshly prepared and served 3 times a day! And the best thing is, Laurel Heights is located in the beautiful city of Moorpark, close to everything, and of course her 2 loving grandchildren. It can be a difficult time when trying to find a home for someone you love. And there are a whole lot of choices out there, which doesn’t make it any easier. But I found my place for mom, and it’s Laurel Heights. You should check it out first…ask for Jill Waters.

As of yesterday, both my sister and brother are residents of Laurel Heights Memory Care Center. My sister became a resident in August 2023 and my brother just yesterday. I am always amazed at the staff all knowing my name as I enter the building or walk down a hallway. The staff take fabulous care of each resident and always with a smile or a hug. The directors doors are always open to family and friends of the residents. What a wonderful find here in Moorpark! Bonnie Robbers

Our mom has been residing at Laurel Heights Traditions (Memory Care) since January 2023. This review is regarding the Memory Unit specifically. Mom loves this place. They allow her two cats to live with her, which makes all the difference in her happiness. The staff are loving and caring. They encourage Mom’s participation in the daily actives that are provided for the group. Mom has her favorites: the weekly bus outings, movies in the on-premises theatre, interactive games on the “Ren Dever”, live music performances, art and crafts, sing-a-longs on the IN2L big screen, and visits from the pastor and pet therapy dogs. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. The memory care unit has its own dining area, with a tranquil outdoor patio and garden. Mom has made friends here and feels safe and cared for by the staff. We too have come to know the staff and work closely with Carthel Mercado, the unit’s director, who helps us immensely with supporting Mom as she progresses through her Alzheimer’s disease. Carthel also ensures Mom’s medical needs are taken care of by the very attentive and professional medical technician team. We feel fortunate to have found a memory care facility that takes care of all of Mom’s needs and communicates regularly with us. We, including Mom, strongly recommend Laurel Heights Traditions (Memory Care Unit).
