Each Wednesday morning, I have the privilege of leading singing of old favorite hymns along with several folks from First Presbyterian Church to the folks living in the memory care unit. They are all well cared for by this facility. Their nurses even sing along with us making sure they are on the correct page of the song book, and seeing to whatever need might arise. Sandra Davenport and other nurses round them up and have them ready the minute we arrive. If I ever need such care, Landon Ridge will be my choice.

My brother-in-law George W. Wood has been in the Memory Care Facility for over 4 years and has always had appropriate care. The facility is always clean and organized along with staff being friendly, caring and professional. There are three staff members that we are usually in contact with at each visit and I would like to commend them for going above and beyond to help us. The first team member we see is Nancy at the front desk, the second team member is Sandra and the third team member is Jennifer. These team members are friendly, caring and helpful with any concern or request we have. Team members like these need to be cloned as they help make this Facility a premier facility for Memory Care. We extend Our thanks and gratitude to these individuals for making our visits pleasant.

Response from the owner

Hi, Nelson. Thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience. We truly appreciate it!

I truly believe this place contributed to the death of my mom. Ā Gitte sold us a nightmare. Ā My mom was there less than 6 weeks before she passed and I have horror stories for just about every day. Ā I started to keep a journal every day I visited. Ā After three days they called to tell me that mom had run out of clothes and now needed diapers. I asked "what for"? Ā They told me that ALL dementia patients wear them. Ā My mom only needed direction on where the bathroom was.Ā They say that they check on all the residents every two hours.Ā I was there many days for over two hours and they NEVER took her to the restroom or checked on her. Ā One time my mom said she needed to use the restroom and the director Sandra B. said that she would have to wait until she found moms assigned RA to take her. Ā Try telling a dementia patient they have to wait to use the restroom. Ā ALL THE RESIDENTS ARE IN DIAPERS. Ā Mom was there for almost two weeks before she got a shower. If you ask questions you are frowned upon. I had a run in with a Med Tech named Meyosha. Rude! I had a question about mom and her meds and all she said was IDK. I told her this is the problem with this place, no communication between shifts! Ā I asked her about my moms meds after mom passed there was no sympathy. Ā So much neglect and abuse. I worry about the residents that are still there. My mom moved there using a walker, the restroom, dressing and feeding herself with guidance. Ā She didn't get any. Ā In the 6 weeks there she went to the emergency room 3 times. They don't allow any "restraints". Ā I call it safety devices. Ā We used a motion detector when my mom would stay with me to let me know that she was up and needed to find the bathroom. Gitte never told us that the facility does not allow. Ā When mom fell the 1st time the motion detector would have notified them that mom was up. Ā The RAs found her on the floor on her back and the paramedics were called. Ā After that mom was in a wheelchair. Ā She spent a lot of days just laying in bed. Ā It was easier for the RAs to just let her lay there rather than to get her up. Ā Several times I saw on the camera they were trying to feed her while she was laying flat in bed - choking hazard. Ā The RAs deal with the residents at their convenience, not when they need them. Ā When my mom fell again she was laying in a puddle of blood screaming I can't breathe. Ā The RAs just stood there. Ā The EMT that took mom to the ER said he was filing a report for neglect. He said there was no reason they couldn't of given her a rag to help her to breathe. After this I wanted railing on her bed. Not allowed. I found mom sleeping in her wheelchair one day so I buckled her in. Not allowed. I told Sandra B so you would rather her fall out of wheelchair than keep her safe? Choking is a symptom for dementia patients so you would think that they would serve food that is small or soft. Ā They do not. The last week my mom was there. I looked at the camera and she was still in bed at 7:50. Ā Breakfast is at 7:30. Ā I called and notified that she was still in bed and needed to eat breakfast. Ā I had to call again at 8:10 because she was still in her bed. Ā No one came. Ā It wasn't until about 8:25 that the RA came to her room and got her. Ā I assumed they took her to breakfast. Ā I decided to check on her. Ā I found her in the hallway by herself. Ā She was dressed but the poor thing had crusty eyes and a dirty face. Ā I took her back in her room and washed her face and put lotion on her. Ā ALL THEY DID WAS MOVE HER OUT OF CAMERA VIEW. Ā I wheeled her to the dining area and ALL the RAs were standing around while my mom had been sitting in the hall all alone. Ā I asked the RA next to me her name is Jennifer "why is my mom still in the bed at 8:30"? Ā Jennifer replied back to me in a rude tone that "the RA assigned to my mom didn't show up". Ā Not sure why that was my problem. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE TO LANDON RIDGE. I could go on with horror stories. It is just so upsetting. If I can prevent one person from going through what my mom did, maybe I can feel a little better.

I drove over from Baton Rouge on Easter weekend. My mother Pat Perrine had only been there since March 1, 2026. She had already fallen twice ending up with a fractured tailbone and fractured nose. I was shocked that glassware was used in the dining room. The first lunch I attended with mom two glasses were broken! Why on earth aren't you guys using plastic stemmed glasses?? Silverware was not unwrapped nor given to the client, I did moms for her! The pieces of food are quite large, what aren't there soft foods being served!!!??????????????? oatmeal, Yogart, Jello, mashed potatoes!!! One guys walked around with wet towels afterwards but not one for each clients, what the hell????Why are clients in the halfway sleeping in there wheelchairs with nobody around????? How on earth did my mom decline so rapidly and end up DEAD from choking?????????????? our family should be reimbursed for the month of April alone since dad had just given a 30 day notice to get mom the hell out of there! Mom went into Landon Ridge walking with her walker and by day 4 she was flat out on her back and never walked again, OMG neglect is not even how to explain this!! I really feel sorry for the clients in there. I hope that Sandra of all people is fired for not taking the lead of her fellow workers. All I can say is the nice looking facility is masking a lot of underlying issues. I pray for peace for my mom and for every other patient in there! May God help you ALL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>attached are pictures of falling face first and bruise on neck from first 911 call, neck brace in ambulance!!
