Lakewood Assisted Living-Virginia

We placed our lovely 90-yr-old mother at RMAL in August 2024, and initially she hated the idea of being “dumped” into assisted living. But the care she needed exceeded what we could provide at home, and RMAL was an excellent solution for a dilemma we all face. However, the facility itself was wonderful - it was essentially a residential house with 10 spacious apartments, which reminded me of a vacation chalet in a ski town in the mountains. The apartments are centered around a spacious great room, dining room, and kitchen with a lovely covered porch overlooking a beautiful back yard. The other residents were so sweet and friendly. Although there are at most 10 residents, several had been there for years and several were beyond 100 years old. My mother made forever friends there, something she didn’t think she would ever do again when she arrived. But the very best part of RMAL on Virginia Ave in Lakewood is the facility staff, especially Eka Reckling, Anaya, Fatima, and so many more wonderful folks there, whose names escape me at the moment. Eka in particular took especially gentle care of my mother, and my mother truly loved her. Eka alerted our family that my mother was starting to decline, which gave us the opportunity to fly in from all over the country to spend time with her. Then, Eka stayed with mom to make sure she wasn’t alone as she progressed and became less responsive. Words cannot describe our gratitude to Eka and the wonderful folks working together there. My mother was a strong courageous woman, who passed earlier today at age 91, and I am so grateful she lived among the community at RMAL who helped us surround her with love when she most needed it. Thank you.

I work in the industry and work closely with this communities administration and community staff house manager Eka Reckling is phenomenal. She treats the residents as if they were her own parents. Would happily recommend this community to anyone looking for a safe place for their loved one to age

Mom is currently at this location and is quite happy with everything. The house is in a great neighborhood, near a park where she is occasionally taken for walks in her wheelchair by the staff. The staff are marvelous. The manager, Eka Reckling, and Anaya, assistant manager, are the sweetest, most loving and caring people you could ask for. They go above and beyond and even anticipate needs. They are very upbeat, intelligent, happy people, and it shows in their interactions with the residence. Every attempt is made to make the house a home for the people living there. From hosting birthday lunches, to the tomato plants growing in the backyard, to the flower garden in the front of the house. Everything you might do for your own home is done by them along with the residents.

My mother lives at the 9000 Virginia location and she is very happy with the staff, and the facility, especially with Eka the Home manager. The facility is small and set up very well. I am extremely happy with Eka, Aniya, Nirmala and Kat the nurse that monitors all the residents living at the home.

My mother in law's husband was a resident at The Rocky Mountain Assisted Living home in Lakewood, on Virginia Ave. He received exceptional, professional and personalized care from everyone at the facility during his entire 5 month stay. The house manager Eka was amazing. Her care was endless. The other staff members, Anaya, Nirmala and Sanjuana were also very helpful, caring, supportive and the entire group made his stay as close to home like as possible.
