I was at Koinonia for 24 hours, I decided to voluntarily leave due to personal reasons/conflict of interest. Even though I was only there for a short time I fully believe the facility is a good place. I connected with so many great people. They all took me in and made me feel like family which helped a lot with being “the new girl”. I also would like to say that addiction is one of a kind, our personal stories may vary in our own unique ways but at the end of the day we all have the same thing in common. Addiction. And we do recover if WE want to accept the change we need. To whoever reading this that is currently struggling, I believe in you… if life looks like a mountain, impossible to climb just remember how far you’ve come. You’ll get there even if it’s baby steps. Heck even if it’s falling because in my opinion falling is still a forward motion if you put it in a positive perspective. 😉

I cant even express how much this place made a difference in my life. They give you the chance to own your shit, face it and move forward in away thats better and healthier.

I have never been there. I do have a love one that needs help...I am very shocked that treatment center responds to reviews...I never seen reviews done that way. Will not be bringing my love one there. A review is personal and should not be relpied to ! Shame on you!

The counselors are there to hear themselves speak and wield their modicum of authority over sick people like battle axes. If you attempt to advocate for yourself or disagree with their opinion, you will be labeled and threatened with discharge. The only good things are the peers and the recovery community with whom you come into contact. I would seek any other options if you're able. Because this isn't a treatment facility, it's a highly lucrative business owned by people who also own several bars.

My son just recently went to Koinonia in Rhinelander. For him, let's just say when he left he cried & was scared to leave there. This is saying a whole lot!! It was structured, a great counselor, & they kept them busy with lots of group sessions. He needed this. I suggest a Sober living housing after this, which my son refused cuz he wanted to work. The only problem I have with this Rehab is that it's only 30 days, u can't stay any longer. My son said he asked & it's 800$'s a day there after that even insurance won't cover. This just isn't right. Well, unless u are Native American & the tribe pays. But others don't have this type of money & so badly need way longer to recover. Sadly, I have my doubts for my son. He did great there but it should have been waayy longer for him. It breaks my heart when he was so very close.
